The TSS-160-90B is a 160mm diameter 90° bend for the Verplas Rapid Self-Seal Thermal Ducting system, allowing full right-angle direction changes in insulated ventilation runs. Like all components in this award-winning range, the body is moulded from Neopor® graphite-impregnated EPS for superior condensation prevention, while the integral female Click & Lock fitting ensures a secure, airtight, tool-free connection to duct lengths and other fittings.

Included Connector: Supplied with one female Click & Lock fitting. This connects directly to the male end of a TSS-160-2M or TSS-160-1M duct length — no additional coupling needed at one side of the bend.
Direction Planning: The 90° bend changes airflow direction in a single plane. For changes that require a 45° step or a branching run, select the TSS-160-45B or TSS-160-TP respectively.
Key Features
Full 90° Direction Change
Provides a clean right-angle turn in 160mm thermal duct runs — ideal for routing around joists, beams, or wall structures in loft and ceiling installations.
Neopor® EPS Insulation
The bend body is insulated throughout with graphite-impregnated EPS (0.03 W/mK), maintaining the thermal performance of the full duct run through the change of direction.
Integrated Female Click & Lock
One female Self-Seal socket is built in, accepting the male connector from adjacent duct lengths or fittings to create an airtight, positive-lock joint without tape or sealant.
Award-Winning System Compatibility
Designed to mate precisely with all other TSS-160 series components — duct lengths, T-pieces, connectors, and the 160-to-150mm adaptor — for a complete, coherent system.
Condensation Control
The insulated body prevents the inner duct surface dropping to dew point even through direction changes, where uninsulated metal elbows are most prone to condensation pooling.
Fast Tool-Free Installation
The push–click–lock mechanism means the bend is fully secured in seconds — a major advantage when working in tight loft spaces or ceiling voids.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is the 90° bend fully insulated around the curve?
Yes. The Neopor® EPS body covers the entire external surface of the bend, including the curved section. Thermal protection is continuous through the direction change, eliminating the cold spots that occur with uninsulated metal elbows.
How does the female fitting connect to duct lengths?
The female Click & Lock socket accepts the male end of any TSS-160 duct length (e.g., TSS-160-2M or TSS-160-1M). Simply push, click, and lock — the joint is airtight without tape or sealant.
Can I use two 90° bends to create a 180° turn?
Yes. Two TSS-160-90B bends can be combined to reverse direction. However, each 90° bend adds resistance to airflow, so ensure your fan unit is rated for the system's total equivalent duct length.
What is the difference between the 90° and 45° bend?
The TSS-160-90B changes direction by a full right angle in one fitting. The TSS-160-45B makes a gentler 45° change, causing less pressure drop. Two 45° bends approximate a 90° turn with lower resistance, useful for fan-sensitive installations.
Is this bend compatible with 150mm ducting?
Not directly. The bend is designed for the 160mm Self-Seal Thermal system only. To interface with a 150mm duct run, use the TSS-160-AD adapter at the point of transition.
