The TSS-160-2M is a 160mm diameter, 2-metre length of Verplas Rapid Self-Seal Thermal Ducting - Box of 6 — the core straight-run component for building efficient, low-leakage ventilation systems in lofts, cold roof spaces, and unheated service voids. Made from Neopor® graphite-impregnated expanded polystyrene (EPS), it delivers superior thermal insulation compared to standard EPS, preventing condensation and protecting airflow performance year-round. Each length ships with one integrated male Duct-to-Duct connector, so you can extend runs without buying separate couplings.

Operating Range
Verplas Award-Winning Range: Part of the UK's first push-fit thermal ducting system. The Self-Seal technology uses a push–click–lock mechanism that forms an airtight joint without tape, sealant, or additional hardware.
Key Features
Neopor® EPS Construction
Graphite-impregnated EPS with infrared absorbers and reflectors gives significantly better insulation than standard polystyrene, achieving a thermal conductivity of 0.03 W/mK — exceeding UK Building Regulations Part F requirements.
Push–Click–Lock Self-Seal
The male connector snaps positively into female fittings across the range, creating a low-leakage, airtight joint that exceeds DW/143 Class A criteria. No tape, clamps, or sealant needed.
2-Metre Run Per Section
Fewer joints per installation means less potential for air leakage and a faster, cleaner install — particularly valuable in long loft runs.
Condensation Prevention
The insulated shell keeps duct wall temperature above the dew point, preventing condensation build-up inside cold spaces such as unheated lofts and roof voids.
Lightweight & Easy to Handle
At just 0.84 kg per 2m length, this ducting is easy to manoeuvre in confined spaces without requiring additional lifting equipment.
Flame Retardant
Manufactured to be flame retardant to DIN 4102 B1, suitable for domestic and light commercial ventilation installations.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does this duct comply with UK Building Regulations?
Yes. The Verplas Self-Seal Thermal range exceeds the requirements of Part F 2010 Domestic Ventilation Compliance Guide and NHBC Guidance Document Chapter 3.2, which require a minimum thermal resistance equivalent to 25 mm of material at 0.04 W/mK. This duct achieves 0.03 W/mK.
What connector is included with each length?
Each 2m length comes with one male Duct-to-Duct connector pre-fitted. This connects to the female socket on the next duct length or fitting without any additional components.
Can I cut the duct to a shorter length?
Yes — Neopor® EPS can be cut with a fine-tooth saw or sharp serrated knife. Ensure cut ends are clean and square. Any cut end will no longer have the integral connector, so use a separate TSS-160-DDCON connector to join.
Is this ducting suitable for use in loft spaces?
Absolutely. The insulated EPS shell is specifically designed for cold, unheated spaces such as loft voids and roof voids where condensation risk is highest. The thermal jacket maintains the duct surface temperature above the dew point of the extract air.
What is the maximum operating temperature?
The rated operating range is −15°C to +60°C. This makes the product suitable for standard domestic extract ventilation (bathroom, kitchen, utility) but not for high-temperature applications such as tumble dryer exhausts exceeding 60°C.
Does this range use tape or sealant?
No. The Self-Seal push–click–lock mechanism creates a factory-designed airtight joint. No tape, sealant, or external fasteners are required for standard joints. This removes a common site installation variable and improves system consistency.
