The TSS-160-DDCON is a 160mm Duct-to-Duct connector for the Verplas Rapid Self-Seal Thermal Ducting system. It provides a simple, airtight push–click–lock joint between two 160mm thermal duct lengths — for example when extending a run beyond the reach of a single 2m section, or when joining two sections that have both been field-cut. Using the correct manufacturer connector at every duct-to-duct junction maintains the system's DW/143 Class A airtightness and eliminates the condensation and leakage risks associated with taped joins.

Extending Duct Runs: The TSS-160-DDCON is the correct connector when joining two 160mm duct lengths end to end. Each duct length ships with one male connector; the DDCON provides the corresponding join when a duct has been cut or an additional coupling is needed.
DDCON vs DFCON: Use the DDCON (Duct to Duct) when joining two duct lengths. Use the DFCON (Duct to Fitting) when joining a duct end to a bend, T-piece, or other fitting. The connector geometry differs — always use the correct type for each joint.
Key Features
Duct-to-Duct Extension
Provides the correct joint geometry for connecting two 160mm thermal duct lengths — the most common junction type when extending ventilation runs in loft and ceiling voids.
Certified Airtight Self-Seal
The push–click–lock mechanism uses an integral elastomeric sealing gasket to create a connection exceeding DW/143 Class A airtightness — without tape, sealant, or clamps.
Eliminates Taped Joins
Replacing site tape with a certified DDCON connector removes the most common cause of system air leakage in domestic ventilation duct runs.
Compact Coupling Profile
The slim, lightweight connector adds minimal length to the joined run, keeping the total duct system compact in confined installation spaces.
Post-Cut Joint Recovery
When duct lengths are cut to suit on-site, the DDCON allows the correct airtight connection to be re-established at either or both cut ends without returning to the integral connector.
System-Wide Compatibility
Designed to mate with all TSS-160 duct lengths and complements the DFCON, bends, T-piece, and adaptor across the full Verplas 160mm thermal range.

Frequently Asked Questions
When do I need the DDCON instead of using the duct's integral connector?
Every TSS-160 duct length includes one integral male connector. The DDCON is needed when both ends of a joint have lost their connector through field cutting, or when an additional coupling point is required outside the standard duct-to-duct interface.
Can I use the DDCON to join a cut section to an uncut section?
Yes. The DDCON provides a standard male-to-male bridge connector that joins any two 160mm duct ends, whether cut or uncut, maintaining the system's airtightness standard at the joint.
Does the DDCON add significant length to the duct run?
The coupling is compact and adds only a small amount of length at each joint — typically a few centimetres. Factor this into duct run calculations if precision installation length is critical.
Is sealant required when using the DDCON?
No. The Self-Seal gasket creates the airtight seal on push-fit assembly. No sealant, tape, or clamps are needed under normal installation conditions for joints that are within the rated temperature and pressure range.
How many DDCON connectors should I order for a typical installation?
Order one DDCON for each duct-to-duct joint that does not have an integral connector available — typically where sections have been cut on-site. It is good practice to keep a few spare connectors on-site during installation to account for unexpected cuts.
