The Vaillant sensoCOMFORT VRC720F (0010036820) is a wireless RF multi-zone room thermostat for Vaillant heating systems — supplied complete with an outdoor temperature sensor for full weather compensation. Operating over Vaillant's proprietary eBUS protocol, it automatically scans for and identifies connected eBUS components during commissioning, eliminating the need to manually configure each system element. The RF version supports up to three independent heating zones and is compatible with the full range of Vaillant gas, hybrid, and renewable (heat pump) systems.
The included outdoor sensor enables weather-compensated control — continuously adjusting the boiler flow temperature based on external conditions to maintain comfort at maximum efficiency. The included outdoor sensor monitors external temperature continuously. The sensoCOMFORT uses this data to adjust the boiler flow temperature in real time — running cooler on milder days and warmer on cold days — rather than simply reacting to room temperature drops. This weather-compensated modulation reduces energy consumption and improves comfort compared to simple on/off room thermostats.
eBUS auto-commissioning — faster installation
At first power-up, the sensoCOMFORT performs an automatic eBUS scan and identifies all connected Vaillant components — boiler, cylinder, zone valves, and room units. Pre-defined system configurations are then proposed, significantly reducing commissioning time compared to systems requiring manual parameter entry for every component.
3-zone wireless RF control
The VRC720F wireless version supports up to three independent heating zones, each with its own temperature schedule, setpoint, and hot water programme — ideal for multi-storey homes, properties with separate outbuildings, or mixed heating/DHW zone systems. A companion wireless zone module (VR 92f) is required for zones two and three.
ambiSENSE integration — up to 20 rooms
When used with Vaillant ambiSENSE thermostatic radiator valves, the sensoCOMFORT can provide individual room-level control and temperature reporting across up to 20 rooms. Each ambiSENSE TRV communicates wirelessly with the sensoCOMFORT, which co-ordinates zone valves, the boiler, and individual radiators in a single unified control strategy.
myVAILLANT app — remote monitoring & control
With the VR940F myVAILLANT connect gateway (sold separately), the homeowner gains full remote access via the myVAILLANT app on iOS or Android — adjusting schedules, setpoints, and hot water from anywhere. The installer can access the myVAILLANT Pro portal for remote diagnostics and commissioning support.
Commercial & cascade capable
The sensoCOMFORT can cascade up to seven Vaillant boilers from a single controller — making it suitable for commercial or communal heating rigs, plant rooms, and larger residential developments. The same touchscreen interface and auto-commissioning workflow applies at any scale.
Wireless vs wired — variant note: The VRC720F is the wireless RF variant (up to 3 zones). For systems requiring up to 5 zones, the wired sensoCOMFORT (VRC720/3) is the appropriate model. The wireless version requires the VR 92f wireless zone module for zones 2 and 3 (sold separately). For app control, the VR940F myVAILLANT connect gateway must be ordered separately.
Compatibility warning: The sensoCOMFORT VRC720F is not compatible with Vaillant's ambiSENSE standalone thermostat (which uses a different protocol). ambiSENSE TRV valves are compatible with the sensoCOMFORT for room-level zone control (up to 20 rooms). Confirm system configuration before ordering.
