The Vaillant aroSTOR VWL B 200/5 UK is a compact, standalone domestic hot water heat pump cylinder from one of the UK's most trusted heating brands. Combining a 200-litre premium stainless steel cylinder with an integrated R290 air-source heat pump, it achieves an A+ ErP rating with a CoP exceeding 3.19 — delivering significant running cost savings versus direct electric water heating. The unit is fully self-contained, requiring no connection to a boiler or existing heating system. It draws ambient room air or external air via flexible or rigid ductwork. The 1.2 kW titanium backup immersion ensures continuous hot water supply even in very cold conditions, and a complete G3 unvented kit is included.
Recovery & Heat-Up Times
Key Features
- Standalone integrated heat pump — no boiler, no solar, no additional heat source required; fully self-contained
- A+ ErP energy rating, 132% water heating efficiency — approximately 775 kWh/year annual consumption
- R290 (propane) refrigerant — GWP of 3, zero ODP, 0.15 kg factory charge; future-proof against F-Gas regulations
- CoP >3.19 (A7/W55) — over 3× energy output versus electricity consumed
- Premium 200L stainless steel cylinder — corrosion-resistant, 5-year manufacturer's warranty
- 1.2 kW titanium backup immersion heater — operates when HP output alone is insufficient, or in BOOST mode
- Heats to 60°C on heat pump alone — exceeds Legionella prevention threshold without element use
- Thermal losses 1.61 kWh/24h at 55°C — superior insulation minimises standing heat loss
- 50 dB(A) sound power — relatively quiet for airing cupboard or utility room placement
- Flexible air ducting up to 10m / rigid ducting up to 20m (≥160mm diameter) — flexible installation options
- Multiple operating modes: ECO (HP only), AUTO (HP + backup), BOOST, PROGRAMME, and HOLIDAY
- Photovoltaic (PV) mode via low-voltage signal cable — maximises self-consumption from solar PV
- Built-in anti-legionella cycle, anti-freeze protection, and condensate management
- Onboard rotary control with LCD display — simple interface with timer programming
- Hot Water Association (HWA) member product — full UK unvented compliance support
- Complete G3 kit included: potable expansion vessel, PRV, tundish, and integrated controls
