Description

Pert-Al-Pert Underfloor Heating Pipe is a five-layer composite pipe built for wet underfloor heating and low-temperature radiator circuits. An inner and outer layer of PE-RT (raised-temperature polyethylene) sandwich a welded aluminium core, giving the pipe the flexibility and ease of handling of a plastic pipe with the oxygen barrier and dimensional stability of a metal one.

The aluminium layer acts as a full oxygen diffusion barrier, protecting the manifold, pump and other ferrous system components from the corrosion that untreated oxygen ingress can cause over time. Supplied WRAS approved in coil lengths from 50m to 500m across 12mm and 16mm diameters, it is backed by a 25-year manufacturer warranty.

The aluminium core also gives the pipe much lower thermal expansion than an all-plastic pipe, helping it hold its laid shape on site and reducing the number of fixing clips needed compared with unreinforced polymer pipe.

Please Note

The 95°C rating applies to short-term operation only; the pipe's continuous working temperature is 70°C. Ensure the heat source and controls are set up so the system does not run continuously at the higher figure.

What does the oxygen barrier do?

The welded aluminium core stops oxygen from diffusing through the pipe wall into the system water, which protects the manifold, pump and other ferrous components from the corrosion oxygen ingress would otherwise cause over time.

Can this pipe run continuously at 95°C?

No. 95°C is a short-term maximum; the pipe's continuous operating temperature is up to 70°C. System controls should be set so the pipe does not run continuously at the higher figure.
