The Tigo TS4-A-O is an advanced add-on module-level optimiser that brings smart module functionality to standard PV modules. Fit one behind each panel to add module-level optimisation, monitoring and shutdown to a new installation or an existing array, recovering energy where shading, mismatch or mixed roof orientations hold a string back.
Built on UHD-Core technology, it supports modules up to 700 W and 15 A with a 16–80 V input range. It snaps onto a standard module frame, or the clips come off for rack mounting, and it talks to the Tigo Access Point (TAP) and Cloud Connect Advanced (CCA) over wireless communication. Commissioning is done from an Android or iOS device. The unit is IP68 / NEMA 3R rated, operates from -40 to +70 °C and weighs just 520 g.
Module-level DC production data feeds Tigo's Energy Intelligence software once the system is connected to the cloud, so underperforming panels are easy to spot and fix. It suits standard string and hybrid inverters, other than SolarEdge and Huawei systems, which use their own optimisers.

TAP and CCA are required
Module-level shutdown needs a Tigo Access Point (TAP) and monitoring needs a Cloud Connect Advanced (CCA) gateway. Both are separate products and are not part of the optimiser.
Variants to check on your order
- Cable length (input / output): 0.12 m / 1.2 m as standard, 0.62 m / 1.2 m optional.
- Connectors: MC4 as standard, EVO2 optional.
- Maximum system voltage depends on the certification variant: 1000 V (IEC) or 1500 V.
- Check the module's maximum power, current and open-circuit voltage against the optimiser's 700 W, 15 A and 80 V limits.
Warranty condition
Tigo's long warranty on TS4 optimisers only applies when all system components are connected to the internet and stay connected for the full warranty period. An unmonitored optimiser carries a shorter, 5-year warranty.
Safety and compliance
Installation must be carried out by qualified electricians. Never connect or disconnect DC cables under load, and treat every module as live in daylight. The rapid shutdown figures in the datasheet (shutdown within 30 seconds, controlled conductors up to 30 Vdc, 240 VA, 8 A) are based on US NEC 690.12 requirements. Confirm what your UK project requires under BS 7671 and your scheme rules.
Fitting and commissioning
- Clips snap onto the aluminium module frame. For rack mounting, remove the clips.
- Sticker the unit's barcode onto a site layout map as you fit, so each optimiser matches its position in the monitoring portal.
- Configure and commission the system from the Tigo mobile app on Android or iOS.
Key features
Module-level optimisation
Tracks and optimises the output of each individual module for higher energy yield and greater design flexibility.
Retrofit or new build
Add it to an existing array without replacing panels, or specify it on a new system to future-proof monitoring and safety.
Module-level monitoring
Energy production tracking and fault detection for every panel through Tigo's cloud-based Energy Intelligence platform.
Rapid shutdown
Manual or automatic module-level shutdown. Meets NEC 2017 and 2020 690.12 when fitted on each module with a TAP and CCA.
Easy installation
Snaps to a standard module frame, with removable clips for rack mounting. Compact at 138.4 × 139.7 × 22.9 mm.
Built to last outdoors
IP68 / NEMA 3R enclosure, -40 to +70 °C operation and use at elevations up to 2000 m.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need a TAP and CCA with the TS4-A-O?
Yes, for the full feature set. A Tigo Access Point (TAP) is required for module-level shutdown and a Cloud Connect Advanced (CCA) is required for monitoring. One CCA supports up to 7 TAPs and 900 TS4 units, and each TAP supports up to 300 units.
What is the difference between the TS4-A-O and TS4-X-O?
The TS4-A-O is rated 700 W, 15 A (IMAX) and 20 A (ISC) with a 16–80 V input range. The TS4-X-O is rated 800 W with 25 A ISC and a 12–80 V input range, for newer high-power, high-current modules. Match the optimiser to your module's maximum power, current and voltage.
Can I fit it to an existing solar array?
Yes. It is designed as an add-on for retrofit and new installations, so you can upgrade an underperforming system with module-level optimisation, monitoring and shutdown without replacing panels.
Which inverters is it compatible with?
It suits standard string and hybrid inverters. It is not intended for SolarEdge or Huawei systems, which use their own optimisers. Tigo publishes a compatibility list, so check your exact inverter and module model.
How is it mounted?
It snaps onto a standard aluminium module frame. For rack mounting, the clips can be removed. Stick each unit's barcode on a site map as you fit it so the layout in the monitoring portal matches the roof.
What warranty does it have?
Tigo's long warranty applies when all components are connected to the internet and remain connected throughout the warranty period. Without monitoring, the warranty on an optimiser is 5 years.
