The Tigo Cloud Connect Advanced (CCA) Kit with TAP is the monitoring and communications gateway for a Tigo TS4 system. The CCA is a compact data logger that sends module-level production data to the Tigo cloud platform, while the Tigo Access Point (TAP) in the kit talks wirelessly to your optimisers and links back to the CCA over an RS485 cable. Together they enable module-level monitoring and module-level rapid shutdown for TS4-X-O, TS4-X-S, TS4-A-O and TS4-A-S devices.
One CCA collects data from up to 900 TS4 units through up to seven TAPs, and each TAP covers up to 300 units, so the kit scales from a small domestic array to a large roof. The CCA connects over Ethernet or Wi-Fi, has a multifunction LED status indicator and two RS485 ports to read third-party Modbus devices such as inverters, meters and weather stations. It arrives with a DIN rail power supply and a DIN rail mountable bracket, so it fits neatly inside an electrical enclosure next to the inverter.
Set up and commissioning are done from a phone or tablet with the Tigo Energy Intelligence (EI) app. The kit is the indoor, DIN rail power supply version (MPN 344-00000-52).

What is and is not in the kit
- Tigo's ordering information describes this kit as a CCA, a TAP and a DIN rail power supply.
-
TS4 optimisers are sold separately. The kit works with TS4-X-O, TS4-X-S, TS4-A-O and TS4-A-S.
- The RS485 cable between the CCA and the TAP is not listed in Tigo's kit description, so plan for it separately. Tigo recommends RS485 cable, 18–22 AWG.
- There is no outdoor enclosure in this kit. Tigo's outdoor version with an enclosure is a separate kit.
Power supply and TAP count
For systems with 2 TAPs or fewer the CCA can run from a Tigo power supply or a third-party 12–24 V DC, 1 A supply. For systems with 3 TAPs or more, the supply must be 24 V DC, 1 A. Check the output rating of the supplied power supply before you add TAPs.
Internet connection
The CCA needs an internet connection for module-level monitoring, code compliance and optimiser warranty eligibility. Plan Ethernet or Wi-Fi coverage at the inverter location before installing.
Safety and compliance
Installation must be carried out by qualified electricians. For rapid shutdown, the CCA must be on the same AC branch circuit as the inverter(s) it controls, and the rapid shutdown initiator must switch off power to the CCA. Make all communication connections before powering on the CCA. Mount the CCA in a NEMA-rated enclosure: at least NEMA 1 indoors and NEMA 4 outdoors. The NEC 690.12 rapid shutdown requirements quoted by Tigo are US standards, so confirm what your UK project requires under BS 7671 and your scheme rules.
TAP placement rules
- Keep the TAP within 10 m (33 ft) of the closest TS4 and within 35 m (115 ft) of the farthest.
- Each TS4 relays to the next TS4 within 10 m, so gaps wider than that need another TAP.
- Place the TAP in the centre of the array. Obstructions or several roof planes may need extra TAPs.

Frequently asked questions
What does the CCA do and why do I need a TAP?
The CCA is the data logger and internet gateway of a Tigo TS4 system. The TAP is the wireless access point that talks to the optimisers and connects to the CCA by RS485. Both are needed for module-level monitoring and rapid shutdown with TS4-X-O, TS4-X-S, TS4-A-O and TS4-A-S units.
How many optimisers can the kit support?
One CCA supports up to 900 TS4 units and up to 7 TAPs. Each TAP supports up to 300 units within 35 m. The kit includes one TAP, so add further TAPs for larger arrays, long gaps between strings or arrays split over several roof planes.
Can I install it outdoors?
This is the version without an outdoor enclosure. Tigo requires the CCA to be mounted in a NEMA-rated enclosure, at least NEMA 1 indoors and NEMA 4 outdoors, so fit it inside a suitable enclosure at the inverter location. Tigo sells a separate kit that includes an outdoor enclosure.
How does the CCA connect to the internet?
Through Ethernet or Wi-Fi, using the Tigo EI app to configure the connection. A working internet connection is needed for monitoring, code compliance and warranty eligibility on the optimisers.
Can it monitor my inverter or meter too?
Yes. The CCA has two RS485 ports for Modbus devices such as inverters, charge controllers, revenue-grade meters and weather stations, up to 32 devices. Each device needs a unique Modbus address, and a 120 Ω resistor goes across the last device in the chain.
How do I connect the TAP to the CCA?
Run a ferruled 4-wire RS485 cable from the CCA GATEWAY terminal to the first TAP. To add more TAPs, chain them in series, removing the pre-installed 120 Ω resistor from every TAP except the last. Make all connections before powering on the CCA.
