Description

The Stäubli MC4 Sealing Cap protects unplugged MC4 and MC4-EVO2 connectors from moisture, dirt, and debris during installation, maintenance, or panel storage. Made from flexible TPE (thermoplastic elastomer), each cap pushes firmly into an open connector to restore weatherproofing and prevent corrosion on exposed contacts. Available as a Female cap (32.0716 / PV-BVK4) — for open female/socket connectors — or a Male cap (32.0717 / PV-SVK4) — for open male/plug connectors.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which cap do I need — female (32.0716) or male (32.0717)?

Match the cap gender to the open connector it will plug into. Use the female cap (32.0716 / PV-BVK4) to seal an open female/socket MC4 connector. Use the male cap (32.0717 / PV-SVK4) to seal an open male/plug MC4 connector. On MC4-EVO2 branch connectors, unused socket ports take 32.0716 and unused plug ports take 32.0717.

When should I use sealing caps?

Fit sealing caps on any open MC4 connector not currently mated — including spare branch ports, disconnected string leads during maintenance, or panel connectors during storage. An unmated MC4 connector is only rated IP2X; the sealing cap restores IP67 protection, preventing moisture ingress and contact corrosion.

Are these compatible with all MC4 connectors?

These caps are designed and tested for use with genuine Stäubli MC4 and MC4-EVO2 connectors. Fitment on third-party MC4-style connectors is not guaranteed and may not achieve the rated IP67 seal.
