The Solis S6-EH1P3.6K-L-PLUS is a 3.6kW single-phase low voltage hybrid inverter from the S6 Plus range, designed for smaller residential solar-plus-storage systems where a compact entry point into battery storage is needed. With a recommended max. PV array size of 7.2kW, a 40-60V battery voltage range, and a UPS-grade switchover time of under 4ms, it brings the same backup and generator-ready feature set as the larger PLUS models to smaller households.
Rated at 3.6kW output with a 7.2kW recommended PV array, this model brings the full S6 Plus feature set to smaller roofs and lower-consumption households without oversizing the inverter for the property.
A switchover time of under 4ms is fast enough that sensitive electronics such as computers, routers and NAS drives typically ride through a grid outage without a noticeable interruption, functioning like a built-in uninterruptible power supply.
Two separate backup outputs allow critical and non-critical circuits to be wired independently, so during an outage the system can prioritise essential loads while shedding non-essential ones to conserve battery capacity.
A 6-stage customisable charge/discharge schedule lets the battery be timed around time-of-use tariffs or specific household routines, giving finer control over when the battery charges and discharges than a fixed default schedule.
The inverter can sustain 200% of rated power for 10 seconds in backup mode, providing the surge headroom needed to start motor-driven loads such as pumps, compressors and air conditioning units from battery power.
Supports multiple generator input methods with automatic On/Off control, allowing a backup generator to recharge the battery and support loads during extended outages without manual intervention.

What size PV array can I connect to the S6-EH1P3.6K-L-PLUS?
The inverter supports a recommended maximum PV array size of 7.2kW across its two MPPT inputs, making it well matched to smaller roofs and lower-consumption households.
Which batteries are compatible with this inverter?
The inverter operates within a 40-60V battery voltage range and supports a wide range of lithium and lead-acid battery brands, including common low-voltage stacks such as Pylontech, Dyness and BYD. Compatibility should always be confirmed against the current Solis approved battery list before specifying a system.
How fast does the backup supply switch over during a power cut?
The manufacturer's datasheet specifies a switchover time of under 4ms, which is fast enough that most sensitive electronics continue running through the transition without a noticeable interruption.
Can this inverter be used with a backup generator?
Yes. It supports multiple generator input methods with automatic On/Off control, allowing a generator to recharge the battery and support loads directly during extended outages.
Is this inverter suitable for UK grid-tied installations?
Yes. Confirm current DNO notification requirements (G98 or G99) based on total system export capacity before commissioning, and ensure installation is carried out by an MCS-accredited installer.
What surge load can the inverter handle in backup mode?
The inverter can deliver 200% of its rated power for 10 seconds in backup mode, providing enough surge capacity to start motor-driven loads such as pumps, compressors and air conditioning units from the battery.
