SolaX X3-PRO G2 10-30kW 3-Phase String Inverter

Description

The SolaX X3-PRO G2 is a three-phase on-grid string inverter for homes and light commercial buildings, available here in 10kW, 12kW, 15kW, 20kW, 25kW and 30kW ratings. Every model accepts up to 1100V DC, starts up at just 200V and tracks across a wide 160 to 980V MPPT range, so it keeps harvesting in low light and variable conditions.

Each MPP tracker handles 32A for high-power solar panels, with 150% DC oversizing, a built-in global MPP scan and up to 98.5% maximum efficiency. The 10 to 20kW models have 2 trackers and the 25kW and 30kW models have 3 trackers, each with 2 strings, so you can split an array across different roof faces.

Protection and control are built in: IP66, Type II surge protection on AC and DC, built-in export power control and smart load management for heat pumps and EV chargers. It supports 24-hour monitoring over WiFi, LAN or 4G, and AFCI arc-fault protection is listed as an option.

Important Safety Information

Solar PV must be installed by a competent person to BS 7671, with the connection notified to or agreed with the DNO under G98 or G99 as appropriate for the size of system. Follow MCS requirements where relevant. DC strings can reach 1100V, which carries a serious shock and arc risk, so isolate before any work.

Choosing Your Model

Six ratings are covered on this page and the inputs differ by model: the 10, 12, 15 and 20kW have 2 MPP trackers and the 25 and 30kW have 3. Maximum recommended PV array is 15, 18, 22.5, 30, 37.5 and 45kWp respectively. The 30kW model's maximum apparent power is listed at 30.0kVA, the same as its rating, so the AC overload headroom shown on smaller models does not apply to it. Select the exact rating in the table and confirm it on your order.

AFCI Is Optional

SolaX lists AFCI arc-fault protection as an optional feature and marks it as a feature to be upgraded in the future. If your project needs arc-fault protection, confirm availability with SolaX before ordering.

Export Control Needs a Meter

The X3-PRO G2 has built-in export power control, but SolaX states that a meter is needed for export control and that three-phase on-grid inverters work with a meter rather than a CT. SolaX's guide lists the M3-40 meter for the X3-PRO G2, connected over RS485.

Which size do I need?

Choose by the AC rating your supply and DNO approval allow, then check the array fits within the maximum recommended PV power, which is 150% of the rating: 15, 18, 22.5, 30, 37.5 and 45kWp for the 10, 12, 15, 20, 25 and 30kW models.

How many strings can I connect?

The 10, 12, 15 and 20kW models have 2 MPP trackers with 2 strings each (4 strings). The 25kW and 30kW models have 3 trackers with 2 strings each (6 strings). Every tracker takes up to 32A.

Do I need a meter for export limiting?

Yes. SolaX states that a meter is needed for export control and that three-phase on-grid inverters work with a meter rather than a CT. SolaX's guide lists the M3-40 for the X3-PRO G2, connected to the inverter's RS485 terminals.

Is this a hybrid inverter?

No. It is an on-grid string inverter with PV inputs only and no battery port. If you want battery storage, SolaX makes separate hybrid inverters.

Can it control a heat pump or EV charger?

Yes. SolaX lists smart load management for loads such as heat pumps and smart EV chargers. SolaX's earlier literature notes that an Adapter Box is required for heat pump control, so check the accessories your setup needs.

Does it have AFCI?

AFCI is listed as optional, and SolaX marks it as a feature to be upgraded in the future. Confirm availability with SolaX if arc-fault protection is a requirement.

How is it monitored?

SolaX lists 24-hour monitoring over WiFi, LAN or 4G. The inverter's built-in interfaces are RS485 and DRM, with the monitoring connection provided by an optional SolaX dongle, so confirm the dongle you need with your order.

Can I install it outdoors?

Yes. It is rated IP66 and operates from -30 to 60°C, so it suits indoor or outdoor installation. Follow the SolaX installation guide for mounting position and clearances.
