Description

The SolaX X3-FORTH is a three-phase commercial string inverter range built for large rooftop, industrial and ground-mount solar. Choose from 80kW, 100kW, 110kW, 120kW and 125kW ratings, each delivering 98.6% maximum efficiency (98.3% European efficiency), with a wide 180 to 1000V MPPT range and a low 200V start-up voltage so it keeps generating in weaker light.

Every model supports 150% PV oversizing and 110% AC overloading, with 32A per MPP tracker and 2 strings per tracker. The 80kW has 9 MPPTs (18 strings) and the 120kW and 125kW have 12 MPPTs (24 strings), while the 100kW and 110kW are available with either 9 or 12 MPPTs as an option, so you can match the inverter to your array and roof layout.

Safety and monitoring are built in: IP66 enclosure, Type II surge protection on AC and DC, AC terminal temperature detection, string current monitoring and I-V curve diagnosis, with optional AFCI. Commercial installers also get built-in export power control, night-time reactive power compensation and aluminium AC cable connection.

Important Safety Information

Commercial PV must be designed and installed by competent persons to BS 7671, with grid connection agreed with the DNO under G99 (or G98 where applicable). Follow MCS requirements where relevant. String voltages up to 1100V DC carry a serious shock and arc-flash risk, so isolate and lock off before any work.

Choosing Your Model

Five ratings are covered on this page, and the data differs by model: the 80kW has 9 MPPTs, the 120kW and 125kW have 12, and on the 100kW and 110kW the 9 or 12 MPPT configuration is a factory option. Maximum recommended PV array is 120, 150, 165, 180 and 188kWp for the 80, 100, 110, 120 and 125kW models. Confirm the exact rating and MPPT configuration on your order. AFCI is optional.

How many strings can I connect?

The 80kW has 9 MPPTs (18 strings) and the 120kW and 125kW have 12 MPPTs (24 strings). The 100kW and 110kW are available with 9 or 12 MPPTs as an option. Each tracker takes 2 strings and up to 32A.

How much PV can I oversize?

The X3-FORTH supports 150% PV oversizing, giving a maximum recommended array of 120, 150, 165, 180 and 188kWp for the 80, 100, 110, 120 and 125kW models.

Does it have export limiting?

Yes, built-in export power control is listed on the SolaX datasheet. Practical export limiting normally needs suitable metering, so confirm the arrangement with your installer or SolaX, and agree any export limit with your DNO under G99.

Can I connect it with aluminium cable?

Yes, aluminium AC cable connection is supported, which can lower cable cost on large commercial runs.

Can I run several inverters together?

Large sites commonly use several inverters. SolaX offers a DataHub for managing multiple string inverters, but the X3-FORTH datasheet does not specify parallel limits, so confirm the maximum number and system design with SolaX before ordering.

Is AFCI included?

AFCI arc-fault protection is listed by SolaX as optional. Check that your order specifies the AFCI version if your project needs it.
