Description

The SolaX X3-FIT G4 is a three-phase AC-coupled battery inverter for adding energy storage to a solar PV system. It is supplied here in 8 kW, 10 kW and 15 kW ratings, connecting on the AC side alongside your existing generation.

It offers up to 110% AC overload output, up to 98.5% charge and discharge efficiency and three-phase unbalanced output of up to 5 kW per phase. EPS backup switches over in under 10 ms and delivers up to 150% EPS output for 60 seconds on the 8 kW and 10 kW ratings.

A 180–800 V battery input, CT compatibility with 0.3 second load response, intelligent load management for heat pumps and on- and off-grid parallel operation up to 150 kW make it suited to larger homes and commercial sites, in an IP65 enclosure with integrated SPD.

Installation and grid connection: Must be installed by a qualified, competent person in line with BS 7671 and the manufacturer's manual, including the wiring of the EPS backup circuit. Calculated from nominal output power at 230 V per phase, the 8 kW (11.6 A) and 10 kW (14.5 A) ratings fall within the G98 limit of 16 A per phase, while the 15 kW (21.7 A) exceeds it and needs a G99 application before installation.

AC-coupled system: The datasheet lists AC and battery connections only, with no PV string inputs. The X3-FIT G4 therefore connects on the AC side of your installation, and needs a compatible battery within 180–800 V.

EPS peak differs by rating: Peak EPS output is 150% for 60 seconds on the 8 kW and 10 kW ratings, but 110% for 60 seconds on the 15 kW (16,500 VA). Check your peak backup load against the rating you choose.

Cooling and noise: The 8 kW and 10 kW ratings use natural cooling, and the 15 kW uses smart cooling. Typical noise is below 35 dB on the 8 kW and below 45 dB on the 10 kW and 15 kW.

What is an AC-coupled battery inverter?

Which ratings are available?
