The SolaX X1 Hybrid G4 is a single-phase hybrid inverter that combines a solar PV inverter and a battery storage controller in one wall-mounted unit. It is supplied here in 3.0 kW, 3.7 kW, 5.0 kW, 6.0 kW and 7.5 kW ratings, so you can match the inverter to the size of the array and the household load.
With 200% PV oversizing, up to 110% AC output and up to 97% charging and discharging efficiency, it captures more of the available solar energy. If the grid drops, the EPS backup output takes over in under 10 ms and can deliver up to 150% of rated output for 10 seconds to start demanding loads. It works with lithium-ion and lead-acid batteries (80–480 V), supports smart load management for heat pumps and EV chargers, and is VPP ready.
Rated IP65 with Type II SPD on both the AC and DC sides, it is designed for reliable installation indoors or outdoors, with quick configuration from a U-disk and monitoring through SolaX Pocket WiFi.

Installation and grid connection: Must be installed by a qualified, competent person in line with BS 7671 and the manufacturer's manual, including the wiring of any EPS backup circuit. Notify your DNO under G98 (up to 16 A per phase, which includes the 3.68 kW variant) or apply in advance under G99 for the 5.0, 6.0 and 7.5 kW ratings.
PV input limit: PV input (PV1 and PV2) to 5,000 W, and the model's total PV input limit takes precedence. Check your string layout before ordering.
Monitoring and control: Monitoring is via SolaX Pocket WiFi, with Pocket LAN or 4G optional. A CT or meter (optional) gives fast load response within 0.3 seconds.
Key features
200% PV oversizing
Connect up to 200% PV oversizing with up to 110% AC output. Two MPPT trackers accept 16 A per input, and a global MPP scan finds the best operating point under partial shading.
Fast EPS backup
Switchover in under 10 ms with EPS output of up to 150% of rated power for 10 seconds, so critical loads ride through grid outages.
Battery flexibility
Compatible with lithium-ion and lead-acid batteries across 80–480 V, with 30 A continuous charge and discharge current and up to 97% charge and discharge efficiency.
Smart energy management
5 work modes and 2 charging periods support time-of-use tariffs, while smart load management controls loads such as heat pumps and smart EV chargers.
Scalable and grid-ready
On- and off-grid parallel operation up to 15 kW, VPP ready for ancillary services, and certified to G98 and G99.
Rugged and protected
IP65 enclosure, -35 to +60°C operation (derating above 45°C) and Type II SPD on both AC and DC sides. Quick set-up with a U-disk.

Frequently asked questions
Which power ratings are available?
The X1 Hybrid G4 is supplied in 3.0 kW, 3.68 kW, 5.0 kW, 6.0 kW and 7.5 kW. Choose the rating from your PV array size (see the maximum recommended PV in the model table) and your typical household load.
Does it provide backup power during a grid outage?
Yes. With a battery connected, the EPS output switches over in under 10 ms and can supply up to 150% of rated power for 10 seconds. The backup circuit must be wired to BS 7671 by a competent person.
Which batteries can I connect?
The X1 Hybrid G4 accepts lithium-ion and lead-acid batteries across 80–480 V with up to 30 A continuous charge and discharge current. Always check battery compatibility in the manufacturer's documentation before ordering.
How much solar can I connect?
The inverter supports up to 200% PV oversizing across two MPPT trackers, each rated for 16 A. The maximum recommended array runs from 6.0 kWp (3.0 kW) to 15.0 kWp (7.5 kW), and each PV input is limited to 5,000 W.
Can it manage a heat pump or EV charger?
Yes. Smart load management lets the inverter control loads such as heat pumps and smart EV chargers, using its 5 work modes and 2 programmable charging periods. A CT or meter (optional) allows loads to respond within 0.3 seconds.
Do I need DNO approval in the UK?
Yes. Systems up to 16 A per phase (including the 3.68 kW variant) are notified under G98. The 5.0, 6.0 and 7.5 kW ratings exceed 16 A per phase and need a G99 application before installation. The inverter is certified to both G98 and G99.
