The Sigenergy SigenStor EV DC Charging Module (EVDC) is a DC-coupled, bi-directional EV charger that slots directly into the SigenStor 5-in-One energy system, connecting at the DC bus between the solar array and the Sigen Energy Controller. Because it taps power before the inverter's DC-AC conversion stage, it avoids the double DC→AC→DC conversion losses of a conventional AC wallbox, so more of the solar energy generated on the roof actually reaches the car. The module supports full V2H (Vehicle-to-Home) and V2G (Vehicle-to-Grid) operation, letting a compatible EV act as an additional home battery or export stored energy back to the grid. It is available as a 12 kW model suited to most residential driveways, or a 25 kW model delivering roughly three times the charge rate of a single-phase 7.4 kW AC charger — both using the universal CCS2 connector. Each power tier is offered with a choice of integrated cable length — 7.5m or 10m on the 12 kW model, and 5m, 7.5m or 10m on the 25 kW model — so installers can match cable reach to where the vehicle parks.

Important: V2X / V2G Compatibility
Not all EVs support bi-directional DC charging. Vehicle-to-X performance is
limited by the EV's own capabilities and, where supported, may depend on the vehicle's software version, model year and the local regulatory framework. Some vehicle manufacturers have not yet officially certified V2X operation even where Sigenergy field-testing shows it working — check Sigenergy's live
V2X vehicle compatibility checker before specifying a project around V2H or V2G.
Please Note: Battery Slot Impact
The EVDC module occupies one physical slot in the SigenStor battery stack. A system fitted with the EV charging module can therefore house a maximum of 5 battery modules instead of the standard 6 — factor this into battery capacity planning at the design stage.
Good to Know: Multi-Source Charging
The EVDC can draw power simultaneously from solar, grid and battery storage, so even the 12 kW model can out-pace a standard 7.4 kW AC charger regardless of solar yield.
DC-Coupled Efficiency
Connecting at the DC bus before the inverter stage means the EVDC avoids the DC→AC→DC conversion losses inherent to standard AC chargers, so more usable solar energy reaches the vehicle.

Does the EVDC module need a SigenStor battery system installed?
Yes. The Sigen EV DC Charging Module connects at the DC bus of the Sigen Energy Controller and requires an existing SigenStor system with at least one PCS battery module — it is not a standalone charger.
What is the difference between the 12 kW and 25 kW models?
Both use the same CCS2 connector and 150–1000V DC range. The 12 kW model draws up to 12.5 kW and suits most residential driveways; the 25 kW model draws up to 25 kW — around three times the speed of a single-phase 7.4 kW AC charger — for faster top-ups or heavier-use applications.
Will fitting the EV charger reduce my battery storage capacity?
Yes. The EVDC module takes up one slot in the SigenStor stack, reducing the maximum number of battery modules from 6 to 5. Plan total storage capacity with this in mind.
Does my electric car support Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G) charging?
V2X support depends entirely on the vehicle. Sigenergy maintains an ongoing field-test compatibility list, and some automakers have not yet officially certified the feature even where it has been shown to work — check the current list before specifying a V2X-dependent installation.
Can the EVDC charge my car using only solar power?
Yes. The mySigen App includes a PV Surplus Charging mode that schedules charging to use only surplus solar generation, and a Fast Charging mode that blends solar, battery and grid power for the quickest possible charge.
