The Sigenergy SigenStor Battery Controller (BC) is the dedicated battery management unit that connects SigenStor BAT battery modules to a Sigen Hybrid SP2 or TP2 inverter. On Sigenergy's 2nd-generation hybrid inverter platform, battery charge/discharge control and energy management intelligence sit in this separate controller rather than inside the inverter itself — the BC is the component that makes battery storage possible on an SP2/TP2 system. It acts as the central control unit for the battery stack, handling communication with the inverter over a dedicated CAN bus, coordinating charge and discharge behaviour across multiple battery modules, and applying SigenStor's AI-optimised energy management strategies. A compact, lightweight design keeps it easy to install and transport alongside the rest of a SigenStor stack.

When To Use This Controller
This controller is required, not optional, any time battery storage is being added to a Sigen Hybrid SP2 or TP2 inverter. If a customer already owns or is ordering an SP2/TP2 inverter and wants to add one or more SigenStor BAT battery modules — whether at initial installation or as a later upgrade — this Battery Controller must be included in the order alongside the battery module(s). It is not needed for a solar-only, battery-less inverter installation, and it is not compatible with Sigenergy's earlier all-in-one Energy Controller (EC) range, which has its own battery management built directly into the inverter enclosure.
Purpose-Built for SP2/TP2 Storage
Specifically developed to connect SigenStor BAT series battery modules to Sigen Hybrid SP2 and TP2 inverters.
Multi-Module Stack Management
Manages up to 6 battery modules in a single stack, supporting a combined capacity of up to 60kWh per controller.
Reliable CAN Communication
Uses a dedicated CAN bus link to the inverter for fast, robust data exchange and coordinated system operation.
Optimised Charge/Discharge Control
Enhances battery charging and discharging behaviour for maximum efficiency and energy utilisation across the connected battery stack.
Compact, Lightweight Design
At just 8kg, the controller is easy to install, transport, and integrate into a SigenStor storage tower alongside the battery modules.
Weatherproof IP66 Rating
Rated to IP66, suiting both indoor and sheltered outdoor installation locations typical of UK garages and utility spaces.

Do I need this if I already own a Sigen Hybrid SP2 or TP2 inverter?
Yes, if you want to add battery storage. The SP2/TP2 inverter alone does not manage batteries — that function sits in this separate Battery Controller. Without it, SigenStor BAT modules cannot be connected to an SP2 or TP2 inverter.
Is this the same as the Sigen Energy Controller (EC)?
No. The Sigen Energy Controller (EC) is Sigenergy's earlier, all-in-one inverter platform with battery management built directly into the inverter enclosure. This Battery Controller (BC) is a separate accessory used exclusively with the newer Sigen Hybrid SP2/TP2 inverter range, where the inverter and battery management functions have been split into two components.
How many batteries can one controller manage?
Each Battery Controller supports 1 to 6 SigenStor BAT modules in a single stack, for a combined capacity of up to 60kWh.
Can this be installed outdoors?
Its IP66 rating supports both indoor and sheltered outdoor installation, consistent with typical SigenStor battery stack locations such as garages and utility areas. Always follow the manufacturer's installation manual for exact site requirements.
