What's In The Box
This kit is supplied as a matched pair: one AP (master device) unit installed near the inverter/gateway, and one STA (slave device) unit installed near the remote sensor or meter. Both are required together and are not sold individually.
When To Use This Kit
Reach for the Sub1G Kit whenever a CT clamp, power sensor, or third-party meter needs to sit further from the SigenStor inverter than a wired RS485 run can practically reach — for example, where the consumer unit and inverter are in different outbuildings, on opposite sides of a large property, or separated by structural walls that make cable routing difficult or costly. It is also useful in retrofit installations where opening up walls to run new signal cable is undesirable. With a lab-tested open-space range of up to 200m, it comfortably covers most detached garages, barns, or secondary consumer units on a single residential plot. In typical UK homes with a conventional room layout and internal walls, expect a working range noticeably below the 200m open-space figure, since walls and obstructions reduce effective distance.

Sigenergy's 200m range figure is based on lab tests in open, unobstructed space. Communication distance will be shorter wherever internal or external walls sit between the AP and STA units — plan the installation with a reasonable margin rather than relying on the maximum quoted figure.
What's the difference between the AP and STA units?
The AP (Access Point) unit acts as the master device and is typically installed close to the inverter or gateway. The STA (Station) unit is the slave device, installed close to the remote sensor or meter it needs to communicate with. Both are included in this kit and are needed to complete the wireless link.
Will this work through walls?
Yes, to a degree — sub-1GHz WiFi HaLow penetrates walls better than standard 2.4GHz WiFi, but the manufacturer's 200m range figure is for open, unobstructed space. Expect a reduced working range once walls, floors, or other structural obstructions sit between the two units.
Can I use this with a three-phase Sigenergy system?
Yes. The kit is compatible with both single-phase and three-phase sensors, so it can be used across SP2 and TP2 Sigen Hybrid Inverter installations.
Does this replace the need for a wired RS485 connection entirely?
