Description

The Samsung MIM-E03EN Mono Control Kit is the 2 zone control module for Samsung EHS Mono HT Quiet monobloc air source heat pumps. It links the outdoor unit to your heating circuits, hot water cylinder and PV or Smart Grid signals, and it ships with the MWR-WW10N colour touch wired controller already in the box.

Compared with the MIM-E03CN, the MIM-E03EN adds a 10-pin terminal block for SG Ready inputs and external zone sensors, so one kit can manage Zone 1 underfloor heating and Zone 2 radiators or fan coil units independently, with a mixing valve, 2-way zone valves, a 3-way DHW valve and a backup boiler signal all driven from the same board.

Safety and regulations

Installation and wiring must be carried out by a qualified, competent installer to BS 7671 and Part P. Isolate the supply and wait at least 1 minute before opening the unit. The power supply cable is not supplied, and Samsung states that failing to follow the operating limits in the manual invalidates the warranty.

Compatibility and what is not included

This kit pairs with Samsung EHS Mono HT Quiet outdoor units (AE080BXYD, AE120BXYD and AE140BXYD series). Confirm your exact outdoor unit model before ordering. The kit does not include the hot water cylinder, 3-way valve, 2-way zone valves, mixing valve, additional pump, room thermostats or the optional Wi-Fi kit.

MIM-E03EN versus MIM-E03CN

The SG Ready inputs and the external zone sensor connections are MIM-E03EN only. The MIM-E03CN does not support these terminals.

Key features

2 zone control

Two thermostat inputs and two 2-way valve outputs serve Zone 1 (underfloor heating) and Zone 2 (fan coil units or radiators). Heating and cooling signals are handled per zone.

Mixing valve control

Drives a 3-point mixing valve with the supplied 15 m TW4 sensor, so a high temperature zone and a low temperature zone can run side by side from one heat pump.

PV and SG Ready

Includes a 2 m PV or peak power control cable plus two SG Ready inputs that can force thermo off or step up the heating and DHW set temperature by one or two steps.

Hot water management

Controls a 3-way DHW diverting valve, reads a DHW tank sensor, accepts a solar pump or DHW thermostat signal and supports a booster heater up to 3 kW.

Backup heat options

Provides a 2 step backup heater control signal and a backup boiler output, so an electric heater or existing boiler can support the heat pump when required.

MWR-WW10N controller included

The wired touch controller connects on F3 and F4. Up to two controllers can be fitted on one kit as Main and Sub.

Frequently asked questions

Is the MWR-WW10N controller included?

Yes. One MWR-WW10N wired remote controller is supplied with the kit. It connects to F3 and F4 on the TB-C terminal block, and a second controller can be added by setting one as Main and the other as Sub.

What is the difference between the MIM-E03EN and the MIM-E03CN?

The MIM-E03EN has an extra 10-pin terminal block carrying two SG Ready inputs and connections for external zone flow and room temperature sensors. The MIM-E03CN does not support these functions.

How does the 2 zone control work?

Each zone has its own thermostat input and its own 2-way valve output. Zone 1 is intended for underfloor heating and Zone 2 for fan coil units or radiators. Where the zones need different flow temperatures, the kit can drive a mixing valve using the supplied TW4 sensor, which must be fitted within 1 m of the valve.

Can I connect solar PV or a Smart Grid signal?

Yes. A red 2 m PV or peak power control cable plugs into connector CNS046, and the function is enabled through the FSV setting. PV control and peak power control cannot be used at the same time. The two SG Ready inputs allow forced thermo off, normal operation, or a one step or two step increase in heating and DHW set temperature.

Does the kit include a hot water cylinder, pump or valves?

No. The kit supplies the DHW tank sensor and the control outputs only. The cylinder, 3-way valve, 2-way zone valves, mixing valve and any additional pump are field supplied. An additional inverter pump must use the PWM control connection and is limited to 100 W input power.

What do error codes E911 and E912 mean?

E911 is a low flow rate error, raised when flow stays below the set point while the pump signal is on. E912 is a normal flow rate error, raised when flow is detected while the pump signal is off. For AE080, AE120 and AE140 BXYD outdoor units the threshold is 7 L/min. Check the pump, valves and strainer first.
