Description

This Profix Overlay Underfloor Heating Complete System is a ready-to-install wet UFH kit covering 60m², built around the Profix panel system — a pipe retention and installation method that lets you lay tiles and other rigid floor finishes directly on top at just 15mm total depth.

The kit is supplied with a 5-port Dualmix manifold fitted with an A-rated Grundfos pump and thermostatic mixing valve, 400m of 12mm 5-layer multilayer (PERT-AL-PERT) pipe with an oxygen barrier, and every panel, clip, connector and tool needed to lay, connect and commission the system. This is the panel, pipework and manifold system only — no thermostat is included.

High Output Through Full Pipe Encapsulation

The Profix panel is designed so the self-levelling compound fully encapsulates the pipe, giving the pipework a much larger surface area in contact with the thermal mass than open-groove systems. That extra contact area is what gives Profix its high heat output relative to other retrofit overlay systems, while keeping the total build-up to just 15mm. Tiles, stone, or other rigid floor finishes can then be laid straight on top once the self-levelling compound has cured.

Please Note

This kit is supplied for connection to a new or existing central heating flow and return (boiler, heat pump, or other suitable heat source). Profix panels are designed for tiled and other rigid floor finishes bonded on top of the self-levelling layer, rather than a floating wood or laminate floor. For large or multi-room layouts we recommend requesting a free CAD pipe layout design before installation to confirm panel counts, loop lengths and manifold positioning. No thermostat or wiring centre is included with this kit — these should be selected separately to suit the number of zones being controlled.

15mm Profix Panel System

The Profix panel retains and positions the pipe so it can be fully encapsulated in self-levelling compound, giving a total build height of just 15mm — tiles and other rigid finishes lay directly on top.

5-Port Dualmix Manifold

Stainless steel manifold with 5 independently controlled ports, each fitted with flow meters and isolating valves, allowing multiple rooms or zones to be balanced and controlled separately.

A-Rated Grundfos Pump & Mixing Valve

A pre-assembled A-rated Grundfos circulation pump with an integrated thermostatic mixing valve, blending flow water down to a safe underfloor temperature (typically 35–55°C) regardless of primary flow temperature.

5-Layer Multilayer Pipe with Oxygen Barrier

400m of 12mm PERT-AL-PERT pipe with an aluminium core and oxygen barrier layer, giving excellent heat transfer, a permanent bend memory, and protection against oxygen ingress into the heating system.

High Heat Output From Full Pipe Encapsulation

Because the self-levelling layer surrounds the full surface area of the pipe, Profix achieves noticeably higher heat output than many other retrofit overlay systems of similar depth.

Full Installation Toolkit

170 Profix panels, a dedicated pipe cutter and pipe reaming tool are supplied so pipe ends can be cut square and chamfered correctly before connection, protecting the manifold connector seals from damage.

What is included in this kit, and is a thermostat supplied?

The kit includes 170 Profix panels for 60m², the 5-port Dualmix manifold with A-rated Grundfos pump and mixing valve, ~400m of 12mm 5-layer multilayer pipe, 10 connector cores, and a pipe cutter and reaming tool. No thermostat is included — please select a suitable wired, wireless, or app-controlled thermostat separately for each zone you intend to control.

What floor finishes can I use with this system?

Profix is designed for tile, stone, and other rigid floor finishes bonded directly on top of the cured self-levelling compound. It is not a floating floor system, so it isn't intended for click-fit wood or laminate in the way an overlay panel system is.

How does Profix achieve high heat output at only 15mm depth?

The Profix panel holds the pipe in place while self-levelling compound is poured over and around it, fully encapsulating the pipe's surface. That full contact with the thermal mass transfers heat far more effectively than systems that only clip the pipe into an open groove, which is what allows Profix to run at higher output despite its shallow 15mm build height.

Can this system connect to a heat pump as well as a boiler?

Yes. The A-rated Grundfos pump and thermostatic mixing valve blend the primary flow down to a safe underfloor heating temperature, so the kit is suitable for connection to gas and oil boilers, air source and ground source heat pumps, and other compatible heat sources.

How many rooms or zones can this manifold control?

This kit's manifold has 5 ports, so up to 5 separate pipe loops (rooms or zones) can be connected and independently balanced at the manifold. Each port has its own flow meter and isolating valve, and separate actuators and thermostats can be fitted per zone for independent room-by-room control.

Do I need to add anything else to complete the installation?

This kit provides the Profix panels, manifold, pump, pipe and installation tools. You will also need self-levelling compound to encapsulate the pipe (sold separately), a room thermostat for each zone (not included), and, for multi-zone control, a wiring centre and manifold actuators if you want each thermostat to independently open and close its own zone.
