The Panasonic Aquarea T-CAP Monobloc J Generation is Panasonic's cold-climate R32 monobloc range, built around T-CAP (Total Capacity) technology that sustains full rated output down to -15°C ambient — no capacity drop-off, no reliance on backup heat, even on the coldest UK days. Available in 9 kW and 12 kW single-phase, and 16 kW three-phase. Panasonic's own EN14511 data shows all three variants hold their full nameplate output at -15°C / W45°C — a genuinely different proposition to a standard monobloc that derates in cold weather.

Panasonic Aquarea monobloc heat pumps are eligible for the UK Boiler Upgrade Scheme grant when installed by an MCS-certified installer in an eligible property.
MCS-certified installer required
To claim the BUS grant and validate full Panasonic manufacturer warranty, this heat pump must be installed and commissioned by an MCS-certified heat pump installer.

What T-CAP actually means
Most air source heat pumps lose heating capacity as the outside temperature falls — a 9 kW unit at +7°C might only deliver 6–7 kW at -7°C. T-CAP holds the full nameplate output all the way down to -15°C ambient, so the kW you specify is the kW you get on the coldest night of the year — removing the guesswork (and the temptation to oversize) from sizing for UK winter design conditions.
