The Panasonic CU-TZ20CKE is the 2.0 kW TZ outdoor unit for single split air conditioning and heat pump systems. It delivers a nominal 2.0 kW of cooling and 2.7 kW of heating from a space-saving compact casing, making it a practical match for the smallest rooms in the home and suitable for domestic use.
A Panasonic R2 rotary compressor lets the unit withstand extreme conditions, with heating operation down to -15°C and cooling operation from -10°C to 43°C. It runs on R32 refrigerant for improved efficiency and connects to the wall-mounted TZ Super-Compact indoor unit with nanoe X technology, so one heat pump gives you cooling in summer and heating in winter.

Safety and regulatory: R32 (A2L) flammable refrigerant
This unit contains and operates with
R32. Installation and servicing must only be carried out by
qualified personnel trained and certified for flammable refrigerants, under
F-Gas requirements. Air purging is prohibited on R32 systems: use a
vacuum pump and a nitrogen tightness test, and keep all ignition sources away from the work area.
Compatibility: outdoor unit only
The CU-TZ20CKE pairs with
one 2.0 kW wall-mounted TZ Super-Compact indoor unit as a
single split system. The indoor unit, refrigerant pipework, interconnecting cable and extra drain hose are installation parts to be sourced separately; the outdoor unit ships with a
drain elbow.
Part of the TZ Super-Compact system
The matching TZ indoor unit adds
nanoe X air-quality technology that works independently of heating or cooling,
built-in Wi-Fi with the Panasonic Comfort Cloud app,
Alexa and Google Home voice control, and
Aerowings airflow distribution.

Panasonic R2 rotary compressor
Built to
withstand extreme conditions, keeping the unit running through hard winters and hot summers.
Heats to -15°C
Heating operation from -15°C to 24°C and
cooling from -10°C to 43°C outdoor, covering the full UK year.
R32 refrigerant
Environmentally friendlier R32 for improved efficiency, with a
0.5 kg factory charge sized for small rooms.
Space-saving compact design
Just
780 mm wide, 542 mm high and 289 mm deep, so it fits against walls, in side passages and on small pads.

Cold-weather drainage
If the unit is used where temperatures stay below 0°C for two or three days in succession,
do not fit the drain elbow, as drain water can freeze and stop the fan. Where the elbow is used, stand the unit on a
base taller than 3 cm.
Frequently asked questions
Which indoor unit does the CU-TZ20CKE work with?
It connects to one 2.0 kW wall-mounted TZ Super-Compact indoor unit with nanoe X as a single split system. It is not a multi-split outdoor unit.
What outdoor temperatures can it operate in?
Cooling from -10°C to 43°C and heating from -15°C to 24°C.
How much extra refrigerant do I add on a long pipe run?
The unit is pre-charged for 7.5 m of pipe. Beyond that, add 10 g per metre, up to the 15 m maximum. A 10 m run, for example, needs (10 - 7.5) x 10 g = 25 g extra.
What pipe sizes and torque settings are required?
Use 6.35 mm (1/4 inch) liquid and 9.52 mm (3/8 inch) gas pipe, with copper no thinner than 0.8 mm. Tighten flare nuts to 18 N·m on the liquid side and 42 N·m on the gas side with a torque wrench.
What electrical supply and protection does it need?
A 230 V supply on 3 x 1.5 mm² cable via a 16 A double-pole breaker with at least 3.0 mm contact gap, plus a 4 x 1.5 mm² interconnecting cable to the indoor unit. A 30 mA RCD is strongly recommended, and the work should follow BS 7671.
Do I need an F-Gas certificate to install it?
Yes. The unit uses R32, so installation and servicing must be carried out by personnel with F-Gas certification and training in flammable refrigerants.
