The NexBlue Point 2 (UK), model NB2670B, is a compact 7.4kW single-phase EV charger with a Type 2 socket, built for UK homes and designed to be quick for installers to fit and simple for drivers to use. It delivers adaptive 1.4kW to 7.4kW charging (6A to 32A), with integrated PEN-fault protection, built-in 6mA DC and 30mA AC residual current protection and a wired CT clamp for smart load balancing, so protection and load management are handled by the unit itself.
Staying connected is straightforward: Wi-Fi, Ethernet and a built-in 4G eSIM keep the charger online for the myNexBlue app, EcoPilot smart tariff charging, solar surplus charging and over-the-air updates. Under the bonnet it supports local OCPP 1.6-J and 2.0.1 and is ISO 15118 ready for V2G and Plug & Charge. An IP54 and IK10 rated enclosure, an operating range of -30°C to +50°C and a 5-year manufacturer warranty make it a dependable long-term choice for home charging.

Installation and safety
This charger must be installed by a qualified electrician in line with BS 7671 and current UK wiring regulations; the manufacturer restricts installation to certified electricians. The manual specifies a maximum 40A upstream circuit breaker with instantaneous trip (maximum 75,000 A²s) and recommends a 30mA Type A RCD. Whether an additional external RCD is needed depends on the site and the installer’s assessment. Isolate the supply before and during installation.
Compatibility: charging cable not included
This is an untethered charger, so a Type 2 charging cable manufactured to IEC 62196 is chosen separately to suit your vehicle. The socket has an electronic lock with a permanent lock option if you want the cable to stay attached. Do not use extension cords or adapters. Commissioning uses the NexBlue Partner app and needs a mobile device with internet and Bluetooth.
Smart charging, UK ready
Compliant with The Electric Vehicles (Smart Charge Points) Regulations 2021 and listed by the manufacturer as compatible with major UK smart energy tariffs. Check your energy provider’s approved-charger list if you plan to use a specific tariff.
Key Features
Adaptive 1.4kW to 7.4kW charging
Delivers up to 7.4kW from a 230V single-phase supply with a rated current of 6A to 32A, so output can be matched to the capacity available at the property.
Built-in electrical protection
RDC-DD 6mA DC and 30mA AC residual current protection, PEN-fault protection to BS 7671:2018/A2:2022 and IET 01:2024, plus overload, relay welding, over/under voltage, temperature, ground fault and humidity monitoring. The built-in RCD self-tests before each charge.
Smart load balancing and solar
A wired CT clamp is included for dynamic load management, with unlimited load management and solar surplus charging support. RS-485 and load shedding inputs are also available for advanced energy management.
Always connected
2.4GHz Wi-Fi, RJ45 Ethernet, Bluetooth LE 4.2 and a built-in 4G LTE eSIM that activates automatically when Wi-Fi and Ethernet are unavailable. OTA updates keep the firmware current.
Flexible access and control
Start charging with the myNexBlue app, RFID (card included), NFC, Plug & Play, AutoCharge or the NexBlue User Portal. Share access with family, schedule sessions and track energy use in the app.
Installer-friendly and future-ready
A slide-in backplate with six cable entries and anti-theft fixing screws simplifies installation, while local OCPP 1.6-J and 2.0.1 and ISO 15118 readiness prepare it for V2G and Plug & Charge.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is a charging cable included with the NexBlue Point 2?
No. The NB2670B is an untethered charger with a Type 2 socket, so you use a Type 2 charging cable that suits your vehicle and installation. The socket features an electronic lock with a permanent lock option, which lets you keep a cable fitted if you prefer a tethered-style set-up.
Does it need a separate RCD?
The charger has built-in RDC-DD 6mA DC and 30mA AC residual current protection, and it self-tests before each charge. The manufacturer recommends a 30mA Type A RCD upstream and states that whether an external RCD is required depends on the site conditions and the installer’s approval, so your electrician should confirm the final arrangement.
What upstream circuit breaker and cable size are specified?
The manual specifies a maximum 40A upstream circuit breaker with instantaneous trip (maximum 75,000 A²s). The terminals accept 2.5mm² to 16mm² single conductors. The installing electrician selects the exact protective device and cable to suit the installation under BS 7671.
Can it work with solar panels?
Yes. The charger supports solar surplus charging and has CT clamp inputs for energy monitoring, including a solar input, so it can adjust charging to use available generation. A wired CT clamp is supplied for load balancing, and the CT input details are covered in the installation manual.
What if there is no Wi-Fi where the charger is installed?
You can connect by Ethernet (RJ45) for the most stable link. If neither Wi-Fi nor Ethernet is available, the built-in 4G eSIM switches on automatically, and Bluetooth allows local control through the myNexBlue app.
Which electricity supplies is it suitable for?
It is designed for 230V single-phase supplies and is listed for TN-C-S, TN-S, TT and IT installation networks, with integrated PEN-fault protection to BS 7671:2018/A2:2022 and IET 01:2024. Your electrician should assess the earthing arrangement at the property before installation.
