The LIBBI-TP1 top cover is a purely cosmetic accessory. The libbi system functions fully without it. It is recommended for 15kWh and 20kWh installations where exposed battery handles are visible at the top of the battery stacks and a tidier finish is desired.

Is the top cover required for the libbi system to work?
No — the LIBBI-TP1 is a purely cosmetic accessory. The libbi system operates fully and safely without it. It is intended for installers or customers who want a tidier appearance on larger 15kWh or 20kWh systems where battery handles are exposed at the top of the stack.
Why is the top cover only for 15kWh and 20kWh systems?
On 5kWh and 10kWh systems, the libbi inverter sits directly on top of the battery stack, covering the handles naturally. On 15kWh and 20kWh systems, the batteries are arranged in two side-by-side stacks rather than one tall stack, and the inverter only sits on top of one stack — leaving handles exposed on the other. The LIBBI-TP1 covers those handles for a uniform look.
Do I need more than one top cover for a 20kWh system?
One LIBBI-TP1 is sufficient for a 20kWh system. For a 20kWh system with two equal-height stacks (2+2 arrangement), the inverter sits on one stack and the single top cover goes on the other stack, covering its handles and giving both stacks the same finished height and appearance.
Is the top cover compatible with both the 3.68kW and 5kW libbi inverters?
Yes — the LIBBI-TP1 top cover is compatible with all libbi system configurations, regardless of whether a 3.68kW or 5kW inverter is used. Compatibility is determined by battery count (15kWh or 20kWh), not by inverter model.
Does the top cover require any tools or fixings to install?
No — the LIBBI-TP1 top cover simply places on top of the battery set to conceal the handles. No tools, screws, or adhesives are required. It can be removed at any time if access to the battery handles is needed, for example during maintenance or future battery replacement.
