This Multi-Zone Water Underfloor Heating System is a complete, ready-to-install wet UFH kit covering 90m² to 180m² depending on pipe centres, and is built around a 6-port manifold for independent zone control across multiple rooms or large open-plan areas.
The kit is supplied with an A-rated Grundfos UPM3 Auto circulation pump and thermostatic mixing valve unit, 900m of 16mm 5-layer multilayer (PERT-AL-PERT) pipe with an oxygen barrier, and every fixing, clip, connector and tool needed to lay, connect and commission the system. This is the pipework and manifold system only — no thermostat is included.

Coverage Depends on Pipe Spacing
Coverage varies with pipe centre spacing: 90m² at 150mm centres for high-output areas such as conservatories or rooms with higher heat loss; 120m² at the standard 200mm centres for typical living spaces; and up to 180m² at 300mm centres where the floor is providing background heat alongside another primary heat emitter. Maximum pipe loop length is 100 linear metres, including the run to and from the manifold.

This kit is supplied for connection to a new or existing central heating flow and return (boiler, heat pump, or other suitable heat source) rather than a single radiator branch. For large or multi-room layouts we strongly recommend requesting a free CAD pipe layout design before installation to confirm loop lengths, spacing and manifold positioning for your specific floor plan. No thermostat or wiring centre is included with this kit — these should be selected separately to suit the number of zones being controlled.
6-Port Manifold
Stainless steel manifold with 6 independently controlled ports, each fitted with a flow meter and isolating valves, allowing every zone or room to be balanced and controlled separately.
A-Rated Grundfos Pump & Mixing Valve
Pre-assembled Grundfos UPM3 Auto variable-speed circulation pump with an integrated thermostatic mixing valve, blending flow water down to a safe underfloor temperature (typically 35–55°C) regardless of primary flow temperature.
5-Layer Multilayer Pipe with Oxygen Barrier
900m of 16mm PERT-AL-PERT pipe with an aluminium core and oxygen barrier layer, giving excellent heat transfer, a permanent bend memory, and protection against oxygen ingress into the heating system.
Complete Fixing & Insulation Kit
600 pipe fixing clips and 100m of edge insulation are included to secure pipework directly to floor insulation and isolate the screed edge from surrounding walls.
Full Installation Toolkit
A dedicated pipe cutter and pipe reaming tool are supplied so pipe ends can be cut square and chamfered correctly before connection, protecting the manifold connector seals from damage.
Heat Source Flexibility
Compatible with gas and oil boilers, air source and ground source heat pumps, and other central heating systems, with the mixing valve protecting the floor from excess flow temperatures.

What is included in this kit, and is a thermostat supplied?
The kit includes the 6-port stainless steel manifold, A-rated Grundfos pump and mixing valve unit, ~900m of 16mm 5-layer multilayer pipe, connector cores, 600 fixing clips, 100m of edge insulation, and a pipe cutter and reaming tool. No thermostat is included — please select a suitable wired, wireless, or app-controlled thermostat separately for each zone you intend to control.
How is the coverage area calculated, and which figure should I use?
Coverage depends on how closely the pipe is spaced. At the tighter 150mm centres this kit covers ~90m², suitable for rooms with higher heat loss such as conservatories. At the standard 200mm centres it covers ~120m², appropriate for most living spaces. At the wider 300mm centres it can extend to ~180m² where the underfloor heating is providing background warmth alongside another primary heat source such as radiators.
Can this system connect to a heat pump as well as a boiler?
Yes. The Grundfos pump and thermostatic mixing valve blend the primary flow down to a safe underfloor heating temperature, so the kit is suitable for connection to gas and oil boilers, air source and ground source heat pumps, and other compatible heat sources.
How many rooms or zones can this manifold control?
This manifold has 6 ports, so up to 6 separate pipe loops (rooms or zones) can be connected and independently balanced at the manifold. Each port has its own flow meter and isolating valve, and separate actuators and thermostats can be fitted per zone for full independent room-by-room control.
What pipe spacing should I use, and does that change the pipe quantity needed?
As a guide, 200mm centre-to-centre spacing suits most well-insulated modern properties with a flow temperature of at least 50°C. Rooms with higher glazing content, poorer insulation, or lower flow temperatures (as from some heat pumps) may need closer spacing. The pipe supplied in this kit is sized for the coverage range shown; if you are unsure which spacing is right for your project, a free CAD layout design can confirm exact loop lengths and pipe requirements before you order.
Do I need to add anything else to complete the installation?
This kit provides the manifold, pump, pipe, fixings and installation tools. You will also need a room thermostat for each zone (not included), suitable floor insulation to fix the pipe to, and, for multi-zone control, a wiring centre and manifold actuators if you want each thermostat to independently open and close its own zone.
