The Mixergy Solar X Direct Standard is a stainless steel unvented cylinder for electric-only properties, with a factory-fitted embedded PV diverter built in as standard. Surplus solar generation is automatically redirected into the immersion heater instead of being exported to the grid, without any separate diverter unit to install.
The 550mm standard case spans 120 to 300 litres across six SKUs, sharing the same 2.0 Controller, WiFi connectivity and stratified thermocline smart charging as the standard Mixergy X range.

Good to Know: Solar Surplus, Automatically Used
The embedded diverter continuously modulates output between 30W and 3000W, matching the immersion load to whatever solar surplus is available at any given moment.
Important: Unvented Installation Requirement
This is an unvented cylinder. Installation must be carried out by a G3-competent operative and commissioned per the manufacturer's Installation & Servicing instructions. Incoming mains pressure must be less than 10 bar and at least 1 bar, with a minimum flow rate of 10 L/min. Unvented cylinders must never be used with a solid fuel heat source.
Factory-Fitted PV Diverter
The diverter ships embedded and pre-wired at the factory, cutting installation time and eliminating a separate wall-mounted diverter unit.
Wide Modulation Range
The diverter modulates smoothly across 30W to 3000W, so even small amounts of solar surplus are captured and used rather than exported at zero return.
Stratified Smart Charging
Thermocline sensors mean the controller only heats the volume of water required, so solar-diverted energy is used efficiently rather than reheating a full tank.

The full-diameter case gives maximum capacity per unit height, suiting cylinder cupboards without width restrictions.
Full App Control & Monitoring
The bundled WiFi dongle connects to the Mixergy app, giving visibility of how much solar energy has been diverted alongside remote boost and monitoring.

Do I need a separate PV diverter unit as well?

Does the Solar X Direct need an internet connection to work?
