The Midea M Thermal R32 is Midea's monobloc air-to-water heat pump range, available in seven capacities from 4 kW to 16 kW — select the output that matches your calculated heat loss on the variant selector. Every variant shares the same platform: A+++ ErP rating at 35°C flow, Midea's Silent Chamber acoustic design, built-in hydraulic kit, MCS certification, and BUS grant eligibility. The 12, 14 and 16 kW models are also available in 3-phase for larger properties.

Mi Pro warranty
BUS grant eligible
The Midea M Thermal R32 range is MCS certified and eligible for the UK Boiler Upgrade Scheme grant when installed by an MCS-certified installer in an eligible property. The grant is paid directly to your installer and discounted from your quote.
10-year warranty needs Mi Pro accreditation
Midea's industry-leading 10-year parts and labour warranty is only available through Midea's Mi Pro Partner scheme — the installer must complete Midea training and register 10 qualifying installs before the extended warranty applies. Confirm Mi Pro status with your installer before booking; non-Mi Pro installs receive Midea's standard warranty term.
MCS-certified installer required
To claim the Boiler Upgrade Scheme grant, the install must be carried out by an MCS-certified heat pump installer. Quality Heating can connect you with our trade network.

Sizing tip
Choose your capacity from a calculated room-by-room heat loss survey — not from bedroom count or existing boiler size. Oversized heat pumps short-cycle and lose efficiency; undersized units rely too heavily on backup heat. Quality Heating offers free heat loss calculations on request.
3-phase availability
12, 14 and 16 kW variants are available in either 1-phase or 3-phase electrical supply — specify which your property has (or which your DNO connection supports) when ordering. The 4, 6, 8 and 10 kW variants are 1-phase only.
Why choose the M Thermal R32
A+++ ErP rating
Achieves an A+++ energy efficiency rating at 35°C flow temperature — Midea class this as putting the M Thermal R32 in a class of its own for seasonal efficiency.
Silent Chamber acoustic design
Midea's Silent Chamber technology keeps maximum sound power to ≤60 dB(A) (rated sound power ≤58 dB(A)) — as quiet as 35 dB(A) at 3 metres on smaller capacities, comfortable for boundary-sensitive sites.
Built-in hydraulic kit
Integrated hydraulic kit inside the monobloc — circulating pump, expansion vessel and safety components factory-fitted, reducing on-site plumbing versus separates.
Heating, cooling and DHW
Delivers space heating, active cooling and sanitary hot water production from a single unit — genuinely all-year-round comfort from one outdoor unit.
R32 refrigerant
Lower GWP than legacy R410A units — sealed factory-charged monobloc circuit, no on-site F-Gas brazing required at install.
Compact footprint
Sleek modern design with a small outdoor footprint — suits properties with limited external space.
Wide operating range
Engineered for reliable output across a wide ambient temperature envelope — dependable through UK winter conditions.
Mi Pro 10-year warranty available
Midea offers the industry's first 10-year parts and labour warranty through their Mi Pro Partner installer accreditation scheme — among the strongest warranty terms on the UK market.

Frequently Asked Questions
Which kW should I choose?
Choose the variant that matches your calculated heat loss. As a rough guide: 4 kW for small well-insulated 1–2 bed homes; 6 kW for typical 2–3 bed homes; 8 kW for 3–4 bed semis and detached; 10 kW for larger 3–4 bed detached; 12–16 kW for large detached, older retrofits or 3-phase-supply properties. Always confirm with a heat loss survey — sizing by rule of thumb is the most common cause of poor heat pump performance.
What's the difference between M Thermal R32 and M Thermal Arctic R290?
M Thermal R32 uses R32 refrigerant — the mainstream choice, proven and widely supported. M Thermal Arctic R290 uses propane refrigerant with a much lower GWP (3 vs R32's 675) and reaches higher flow temperatures (up to 75°C) with stronger cold-climate output. R290 is the more future-proof choice ahead of tightening F-Gas regulation; R32 remains the well-established mainstream option.
Do I need to be MCS-registered to install this?
The unit can be installed by any competent heating engineer, but to claim the Boiler Upgrade Scheme grant the install must be by an MCS-certified installer. To unlock Midea's 10-year warranty, the installer must additionally be a Midea Mi Pro Partner. Quality Heating can connect you with MCS + Mi Pro installers.
Can I choose 1-phase or 3-phase?
The 4, 6, 8 and 10 kW variants are 1-phase only. The 12, 14 and 16 kW variants are available in either 1-phase or 3-phase — specify which suits your property's electrical supply when ordering.
Will my existing radiators work?
In most cases yes, but radiators sized for an 80°C gas boiler flow may need uprating on the coldest rooms — heat pumps typically run at 45–55°C flow. A heat loss survey identifies what (if anything) needs changing before commissioning.
Does this unit provide cooling as well as heating?
Yes — the M Thermal R32 range supports active cooling as well as space heating and DHW production, provided your emitters (e.g. fan coils or suitable underfloor systems) are configured for cooling mode.
