This Joisted Floors Underfloor Heating System is a complete, ready-to-install wet UFH kit covering 30m², built around 22mm load-bearing chipboard panels with routed slots and aluminium heat diffusion plates. The panels fix directly onto joists at up to 600mm centres, forming the structural floor deck itself — so there's no need for a separate plywood subfloor.
The kit is supplied with a 3-port Dualmix manifold fitted with an A-rated Grundfos pump and thermostatic mixing valve, 240m of 12mm 5-layer multilayer (PERT-AL-PERT) pipe with an oxygen barrier, and every panel, connector and tool needed to lay, connect and commission the system. This is the panel, pipework and manifold system only — no thermostat is included.

Installs Directly Onto Joists — No Plywood Needed
Each panel is 2400mm × 600mm × 22mm, tongue-and-grooved on all four edges for a solid, interlocking fit, and covers 1.44m² per board. The panels fix straight onto joists at up to 600mm centres, so the board itself forms a strong, load-bearing floor deck — there's no need to lay a plywood subfloor first. Aluminium heat diffusion plates slot into the routed grooves to hold the pipe firmly in place and spread heat quickly and evenly across the floor, at 150mm pipe centres for 12mm pipe.

This kit is supplied for connection to a new or existing central heating flow and return (boiler, heat pump, or other suitable heat source). Because the board forms the structural deck, joist spacing and panel layout matter for a sound installation — for large or multi-room layouts we recommend requesting a free CAD pipe layout design before installation to confirm panel counts, loop lengths and manifold positioning. No thermostat or wiring centre is included with this kit — these should be selected separately to suit the number of zones being controlled.

Tongue-and-grooved 22mm load-bearing chipboard panels fix directly onto joists at up to 600mm centres, forming the finished floor deck without a separate plywood layer.
Aluminium Heat Diffusion Plates
Aluminium plates slot into the routed grooves alongside the pipe, holding it securely in place and spreading heat quickly and evenly across the panel for a fast, responsive system.
3-Port Dualmix Manifold
Stainless steel manifold with 3 independently controlled ports, each fitted with flow meters and isolating valves, allowing multiple rooms or zones to be balanced and controlled separately.
A-Rated Grundfos Pump & Mixing Valve
A pre-assembled A-rated Grundfos circulation pump with an integrated thermostatic mixing valve, blending flow water down to a safe underfloor temperature (typically 35–55°C) regardless of primary flow temperature.
5-Layer Multilayer Pipe with Oxygen Barrier
240m of 12mm PERT-AL-PERT pipe with an aluminium core and oxygen barrier layer, giving excellent heat transfer, a permanent bend memory, and protection against oxygen ingress into the heating system.
Full Installation Toolkit
21 HeatBoard panels, a dedicated pipe cutter and pipe reaming tool are supplied so pipe ends can be cut square and chamfered correctly before connection, protecting the manifold connector seals from damage.

What is included in this kit, and is a thermostat supplied?
The kit includes 21 HeatBoard ULTRA panels for 30m², the 3-port Dualmix manifold with A-rated Grundfos pump and mixing valve, ~240m of 12mm 5-layer multilayer pipe, 6 connector cores, and a pipe cutter and reaming tool. No thermostat is included — please select a suitable wired, wireless, or app-controlled thermostat separately for each zone you intend to control.
Do I need plywood under these panels?
No. The 22mm HeatBoard ULTRA panel is a load-bearing structural board in its own right, designed to fix directly onto joists at up to 600mm centres. It replaces the need for a separate plywood deck, though your final floor finish (tile, wood, vinyl, carpet, etc.) is still laid on top as normal.
How do the aluminium plates improve heat output?
The aluminium heat diffusion plates slot into the panel's routed grooves directly against the pipe, giving excellent contact and spreading heat quickly and evenly across the whole panel surface. This gives a faster response and higher output than systems that rely on the chipboard alone to conduct heat.
Can this system connect to a heat pump as well as a boiler?
Yes. The A-rated Grundfos pump and thermostatic mixing valve blend the primary flow down to a safe underfloor heating temperature, so the kit is suitable for connection to gas and oil boilers, air source and ground source heat pumps, and other compatible heat sources.
How many rooms or zones can this manifold control?
This kit's manifold has 3 ports, so up to 3 separate pipe loops (rooms or zones) can be connected and independently balanced at the manifold. Each port has its own flow meter and isolating valve, and separate actuators and thermostats can be fitted per zone for independent room-by-room control.
Do I need to add anything else to complete the installation?
This kit provides the HeatBoard panels, manifold, pump, pipe and installation tools. You will also need your chosen floor finish to lay on top of the panels, a room thermostat for each zone (not included), and, for multi-zone control, a wiring centre and manifold actuators if you want each thermostat to independently open and close its own zone.
