The Homely Smart Controller with Samsung Modbus Interface is the complete kit needed to bring smart, self-optimising control to a Samsung air source heat pump. It bundles the Homely Hub, a Homely wireless temperature Node, and the Samsung MIM-B19N Modbus interface module, so the heat pump's proprietary NASA communication protocol can talk directly to the Homely platform.
Unlike Homely's generic Hub + Node kit, this bundle is specifically built for Samsung EHS, HE and HT heat pumps, which require a Modbus gateway to expose their internal registers. Once fitted, Homely takes over weather compensation, learns the property's heating characteristics, and gives installers remote monitoring, diagnostics and parameter access via Connect Pro without a return site visit.

Samsung-Specific Bundle
This kit is for Samsung EHS, HE and HT heat pumps only. It includes the Samsung MIM-B19N Modbus interface module required to bridge Samsung's NASA (R1/R2) communication protocol to Modbus RTU. For non-Samsung heat pumps (Riello, Bosch, Daikin, Grant, LG, Midea, Mitsubishi and others on Homely's supported list), use the standard Homely Hub + Node kit, which does not need a Modbus adaptor.
Qualified Installation Required
The MIM-B19N Modbus interface module connects directly to the outdoor unit's main and sub control boards and draws 12V DC from the unit itself. Installation, wiring and address-setting must be carried out by a qualified heat pump/air conditioning engineer in accordance with Samsung's installation manual and local electrical regulations. Incorrect wiring polarity on the RS485 line will prevent communication.
