The Heatrae Sadia Hotflo 50L Horizontal is a 3kW electric unvented water heater built for light commercial installations with restricted headroom — ceiling voids, under-counter service cupboards, or shallow plant spaces where a tall vertical cylinder won't fit.

It shares the same duplex stainless steel inner container and ErP-compliant performance as the vertical Hotflo 50L, simply reoriented to a low, wide format measuring just 371mm high by 997mm long.

Why choose horizontal over vertical for the Hotflo 50L?

Choose horizontal were ceiling height or a shallow service void rules out a tall vertical cylinder — for example, mounting above a suspended ceiling or inside a low cupboard. Vertical suits installations with more height than floor space.

Does the horizontal orientation affect performance?

Only very slightly. Heat-up time and efficiency figures are marginally different between orientations due to minor differences in surface area and insulation coverage, but both deliver the same 50 litre capacity from the same 3kW element.

Is a cold water tank required?

No, this is a fully unvented, mains-fed water heater.

What's the factory thermostat setting?
