The Heatrae Sadia Hotflo 10L is a compact 2.2kW electric unvented water heater built for small commercial washrooms and kitchenettes where a cold water cistern isn't available. Fed directly from the mains, it delivers mains-pressure hot water to up to two hand basins without the flow restrictions typical of gravity-fed systems.
Its high-grade copper inner container needs no sacrificial anode, cutting out a whole category of routine maintenance, while the externally adjustable thermostat (10–70°C) lets installers tune output temperature to the application on site.
Installation Requirement
This unit must be fitted with a Pressure (expansion) Relief Valve on the cold water supply. If the static mains pressure exceeds 4.1 bar (60 psi), a Pressure Reducing Valve and Expansion Vessel are also required — see Heatrae Sadia's Accessory Packs U1/U2/U5. Installation must be carried out by a competent, Gas Safe/WRAS-aware installer in line with Water Supply (Water Fittings) Regulations.
No Cistern Required
Being fully unvented and mains-fed, the Hotflo 10L can be installed anywhere with a mains water connection — no cold water storage cistern or loft space needed, which is what makes it so popular for retrofit washroom upgrades.
Copper Inner Container
The replaceable copper inner container is rated for 6 bar working pressure and type-tested to 20 bar, giving long-term corrosion resistance without an anode to inspect or replace.
Externally Adjustable Thermostat
The 10–70°C thermostat is adjustable from outside the casing, so installers and facilities teams can recalibrate output without opening the unit.
IPX4 Splashproof Rating
Rated IPX4 for protection against splashing water, making it suitable for wet commercial environments such as washrooms and catering prep areas.
CFC/HCFC-Free Insulation
Flame-retardant expanded polystyrene insulation with zero ozone depletion potential (ODP zero) supports environmental compliance without sacrificing thermal efficiency.
Factory-Fitted Safety Valve

Do I need a cold water tank to install the Hotflo 10L?
No. As an unvented water heater it runs directly from the mains cold water supply, so no cistern or tank is required — this is one of the main reasons it's chosen for retrofit washroom projects.
How many basins can the Hotflo 10L supply?
The 10 litre model is designed for up to two hand basins or sinks used intermittently, such as a small washroom. For three basins or higher-demand use, the 15L version of the range is the better fit.
What accessories does it come with?
The unit is supplied with a factory-fitted Pressure Relief Valve and a 1 metre power cable. Depending on your mains pressure, you may also need a Thermostatic Blending Valve, Expansion Vessel, or Pressure Reducing Valve — available as Heatrae Sadia Accessory Packs.
Can it be used with a shower?
No. The Hotflo range is designed for tap outlets (standard or mixer) and is not recommended for supplying a shower.
Does the copper inner container need an anode?
No. Copper is corrosion-resistant on its own, so there's no sacrificial anode to inspect or replace — unlike some steel-cylinder alternatives.
