Description

The Heatmiser neoAir V3 in Silver is a battery-powered wireless programmable thermostat that sends its call for heat to a Heatmiser receiver by 868MHz radio, so it can be placed wherever the room needs it with no wiring back to the boiler or heater. It controls heating only, a hot water timer, or heating and hot water together, depending on the mode you select and the receiver you pair it with.

Pair it with an RF-Switch, RF-Switch V2, RF-Switch 16A or UH8-RF V2 wiring centre, or add it as a zone on a neoHub or neoHub Mini for app control through the neoApp. You get 4 comfort levels per day, Self-Learning Optimum Start, temperature hold, holiday mode, frost protection and a backlit LCD with touch keys, all in a slim silver finish. 4 x AAA batteries are supplied; the receiver is sold separately.

Operating modes

Not for electric underfloor heating

Heatmiser states that the neoAir V3 must not be used to control electric underfloor heating. It can switch hydronic (water) underfloor zones through a UH8-RF V2 or neoHub, and its optional floor sensing mode is a limit function for the floor, not a replacement for a dedicated floor heating thermostat.

Receiver and probe sold separately

No receiver is included. Choose an RF-Switch, UH8-RF V2 or neoHub Mini to suit the system. The remote floor or air sensor probe used by the sensor modes is also not included.

Range and wireless network

The neoAir V3 does not repeat signals (no mesh). To extend coverage, add a neoPlug or Heatmiser Boost; a neoPlug is not a compatible repeater when the thermostat is used with a neoHub Mini HW or neoHub Mini OT. Mount at eye level and away from direct heat sources.

Battery guidance

Heatmiser's printed manual says not to use rechargeable batteries, so fit the 4 supplied AAA alkaline cells. Heatmiser's online guidance notes that 1.2V rechargeables can work but may show the low-battery symbol early. Follow the manual if you are unsure.

Smart control with neoHub

Pair to a neoHub or neoHub Mini for app scheduling and remote control. When paired to a hub, the program mode is set in the neoApp.

Air and floor sensing

The thermostat has a built-in air sensor and also supports a remote air sensor, a remote floor sensor, or built-in air plus floor limit with a limit adjustable from 20C to 45C.

Energy-saving controls

Self-Learning Optimum Start, temperature hold, holiday mode, an adjustable switching differential (0.5C to 3C), output delay (up to 15 minutes) and frost protection (default 12C).

Frequently asked questions

Is a receiver included?

No. The neoAir V3 is a transmitting thermostat and needs a compatible receiver such as an RF-Switch, UH8-RF V2 or neoHub Mini to switch the heating.

Can I control it from a phone?

Yes, when paired to a neoHub or neoHub Mini. Add the thermostat as a zone in the neoApp to schedule and control it remotely. Without a hub it is operated at the thermostat itself.

Can it control hot water as well as heating?

Yes. Select Mode 3 for heating plus a hot water timer with a compatible receiver, or use Mode 2 as a simple time clock. With a neoHub Mini HW, hot water pairs automatically when paired to CH1.

Does it work with underfloor heating?

It can switch hydronic underfloor heating zones through a UH8-RF V2 or neoHub and offers a floor limit function. It must not be used to control electric underfloor heating.

What happens if the signal is lost?

The wireless fail-safe is enabled by default: if the receiver does not hear from the thermostat for 40 minutes, it switches on for 12 minutes every hour until the signal returns.

How do I extend the wireless range?

The neoAir V3 does not relay signals itself. Add a neoPlug or Heatmiser Boost for a stronger network, or pair a wired neoStat first so it can extend coverage on a neoHub system.
