Description

The Google Nest Thermostat E is a smart learning thermostat that pairs a compact frosted-glass display with a separate Heat Link E receiver, replacing an existing wired room thermostat without rewiring the boiler itself. It learns your temperature preferences over the first week or two of use and builds its own schedule automatically, while a built-in proximity sensor wakes the display as you approach and Home/Away Assist uses your phone's location to stop heating an empty house.

It works with combi boilers, heat-only boilers, single-stage heat pumps, zoned systems and district heating with electrical control valves, and supports both simple on/off room-stat control and modulating OpenTherm systems for finer temperature matching. Control comes through the Nest app on iOS or Android, or by voice through Google Assistant, with full compatibility across a Google Home smart home setup.

Wiring compatibility: The Nest Thermostat E needs a Wi-Fi internet connection and, on most UK systems, replaces an existing wired room thermostat. Two-wire heating systems without a live feed at the thermostat may need the Heat Link E wired directly at the boiler or an additional wiring centre — check compatibility before ordering, particularly on older or non-standard setups.

Will the Nest Thermostat E work with my boiler?
