The Fox ESS EVO 10E (Gen 2) is a fully integrated all-in-one hybrid inverter and battery in a single, sleek unit, available as a 3.7kW (EVO10E-3.7-H), 5kW (EVO10E-5-H), 8kW (EVO10E-8-H) or 10kW (EVO10E-10-H) single-phase model. Every version includes the same 10.24kWh LiFePO₄ battery (9.73kWh usable at 95% depth of discharge), so you choose the inverter output to suit the home and the solar array, and get generation, storage and backup from one wall- or floor-mounted cabinet with one-step installation.
EPS off-grid backup keeps essential circuits running during a power cut with a switchover time under 4 ms. The IP66 enclosure and built-in battery warm-up function (operation down to -25°C) make it suitable for outdoor installation, and FoxCloud 2.0 monitoring via WiFi, LAN and Bluetooth lets you and your installer track performance remotely. The 8kW and 10kW models add a third MPPT input and accept up to 20kWp of PV. Storage can be grown later with up to 3 ET10 battery expansion units.

Installation and grid connection
Installation, commissioning and grid connection must be carried out by a competent installer in line with BS 7671 and the manufacturer’s instructions. Home battery location should follow PAS 63100 guidance. The 3.7kW model has a rated output current of 16.0A at 230V, right at the 16A per phase G98 threshold, while the 5kW, 8kW and 10kW models exceed it, so confirm the correct G98/G99 notification or application route and any export limit with the DNO before installation.
Compatibility: expansion and parallel operation
Support for up to 3 ET10 expansion batteries and AC parallel operation of up to 3 units. Parallel operation is not currently available because the AI link has been discontinued, and that ET10 expansion units are expected from December 2026. Please confirm current availability before designing a system around either.
Weight and handling
Every model weighs 108kg. Plan safe lifting and a wall or floor fixing suitable for the load before delivery, and use appropriate lifting equipment.
Which output should I choose?
The battery is the same on every model, so the choice is about inverter output and PV capacity. The 3.7kW and 5kW models have 2 MPPT inputs and a 16kWp maximum array; the 8kW and 10kW models add a third MPPT and a 20kWp maximum array, suiting larger or multi-orientation roofs.

Frequently asked questions
Which EVO 10E output should I choose?
All four models share the same 10.24kWh battery, so choose by inverter output and PV size. 3.7kW and 5kW have 2 MPPT inputs and a 16kWp maximum array; 8kW and 10kW have 3 MPPT inputs and a 20kWp maximum array. Your installer should size the system to the roof, the household load and the grid connection.
How much battery capacity can I actually use?
The integrated battery is 10.24kWh nominal, and with a 95% depth of discharge the usable capacity is 9.73kWh on every model.
Can I add more batteries later?
The EVO 10E is designed to support up to 3 ET10 expansion batteries, taking usable storage up to about 38.92kWh. Note that ET10 units are expected to be available from December 2026, so check availability before planning an expansion.
Does it provide backup power during a blackout?
Yes. The EPS output supplies essential loads up to the rated power of the model with a switchover time under 4 ms. Your installer will wire a dedicated backup circuit for the loads you want to keep running.
Can it be installed outdoors?
Yes. It is IP66 rated for outdoor use and operates from -20°C to 55°C, extending to -25°C with the warm-up function. Follow the manufacturer’s clearance and mounting guidance.
What grid approval does it need?
The 3.7kW model is rated at 16.0A at 230V, at the 16A per phase G98 threshold. The 5kW, 8kW and 10kW models are above it, so a G99 application, or a suitable export limit arrangement agreed with the DNO, is normally required. Your installer should confirm the route with the network operator.
How do I monitor and control it?
Via the FoxCloud 2.0 app and web portal over WiFi, LAN or Bluetooth, with optional 4G. It also supports meter and EMS connection, SG Ready, DRM and ripple control.
