The Dyness PowerDepot G2 is a 5.12 kWh low-voltage lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4) battery built for residential energy storage. With 51.2 V and 100 Ah, 100 A maximum discharge and a slim 165 mm profile, it fits wall-mounted or floor-mounted installations where space is limited.
Scale from 5.12 kWh up to 256 kWh with up to 50 units in parallel. Battery equalization lets you mix modules at different states of charge without shortening battery life. It is rated IP66 for outdoor installation, and an optional self-heating function extends charging down to -20 °C.
Safety is built in: a built-in aerosol fire extinguisher detects and extinguishes fires within 5 seconds, an explosion-proof valve releases pressure, and a DC circuit breaker and smart BMS protect against faults. CAN and RS485 communication, a built-in Wi-Fi module with app OTA updates and a rated life of 8000 cycles or more over 10 years complete the package.
- The battery weighs 54.4 kg. Use a two-person lift or suitable lifting equipment.
- Wall mounting needs a solid brick or cement wall at least 100 mm thick. The bottom of the unit sits about 300 mm above the floor.
- Earth the battery shell with a cable of at least 6 mm² (M6 ring terminal, 6 Nm).
- Fit only by trained professionals. In a fire, do not use water and keep a dry powder extinguisher nearby. Never mix batteries of different makes, models or ages.
- For UK installations, follow BS 7671 and the IET Code of Practice for Electrical Energy Storage Systems, and notify your DNO for the overall system as required (G98/G99).
- The self-heating function is optional. Standard charging range is 0 to 55 °C, and charging down to -20 °C needs the heating option, so confirm it is fitted if the battery will sit in an unheated space.
- Peak discharge differs between documents: the datasheet states 120 A for 10 minutes, while the user manual quotes 200 A for 2 minutes. Size your design on the 100 A maximum discharge.
- Allow for a height of 660 mm (datasheet). The user manual lists 640 mm.
- Max charge (bulk) voltage 57.6 V, absorption 56.5 V, float 56 V.
- Shut-down voltage 48 V, shut-down SOC 5%, restart voltage 52 V.
- Max charge current 75 A and max discharge current 100 A.
- Recommended continuous charge and discharge current is 50 A (0.5C).
- Matching guide: 5 kW inverter with 1 unit, 10 kW with 1 to 2 units, 15 kW with 2 to 3 units.
