It is the entry point into the Wiser 2nd Generation smart home platform, replacing a single existing thermostat with an app-controlled, expandable system — and the natural upgrade path for anyone still running a Wiser 1st Generation setup.
The kit includes a 1-Channel 2nd Generation Wiser HubR and a wireless Wiser Room Thermostat. Installer Requirement
The HubR requires fixed mains wiring, to comply with current IET Wiring Regulations (BS7671). Mains wiring should be carried out by a competent person.
Boiler Compatibility Check
Thermostat Kit 1 is designed for combi boilers controlled via OpenTherm or relay switching. For a conventional boiler with a separate hot water cylinder, choose Thermostat Kit 2 (CCTFR6902G2D). For two heating zones plus hot water, choose Thermostat Kit 3 (CCTFR6903G2D).

Is this kit suitable for a conventional boiler?
No. Thermostat Kit 1 (CCTFR6901G2D) is designed for combi boilers. For a conventional boiler with a separate hot water cylinder, choose Thermostat Kit 2 (CCTFR6902G2D).
Can this control a heat pump?
Yes. The 2nd Generation HubR can interface with heat pumps via On/Off controls, in addition to standard gas and oil combi boilers.
What's the difference between this and Multi-Zone Kit 1?
Thermostat Kit 1 includes only the HubR and Room Thermostat, controlling heating as a single zone. Multi-Zone Kit 1 (CCTFR69041G2D) uses the same 1-channel HubR but also includes two Radiator Thermostats for room-by-room control from the outset.
Does this work with Matter and Zigbee smart home devices?
Yes. The 2nd Generation HubR uses Zigbee 2.4GHz and acts as a Matter bridge, so it can connect to Wiser Smart Home devices and existing Matter ecosystems.

Is this compatible with my existing Wiser 1st Generation devices?
