Usable Water Yield is a Calculated Figure
The 142L figure is a theoretical maximum, based on a stored temperature of 65°C, a 10°C cold mains feed, and blending down to a 41°C delivery temperature - the same reference point used across the QH range for comparability. This assumes vertical installation, where stratification is most effective. If installed horizontally, expect usable volume to run lower, since horizontal cylinders mix hot and cold water more readily than vertical ones.

Installation & Trade Notes:
This unit is designed for a low-pressure cold water supply. The supplied PRV must be fitted and plumbed to a safe, visible, frost-free discharge point in compliance with Water Regulations and Building Regulations Part G.
All electrical work must be carried out by a Part P-registered electrician. Connect via a 13A fused spur or remove the plug for hardwired connection; the circuit must be protected by an RCD. When mounting horizontally, the hot water outlet connection must face upward - failure to observe this will cause stratification problems and air locks. Water connections are 15mm (inlet & outlet). Flush the cylinder before commissioning and set the thermostat to a minimum of 60°C in line with HTM 04-01 Legionella guidance.
How much usable hot water does the 80-litre cylinder provide?
Using the standard reference of a 65°C store, 10°C cold main, and 41°C delivery temperature, the cylinder yields approximately 142 litres of usable hot water per cycle, well suited for two to three occupants with normal daily use.
How does the Smart Key function work?
Hold the Smart Key button (top-right of the display) for three seconds to activate it. The cylinder then monitors your hot water draw times and volumes over the following seven days, and from day eight automatically sets heating schedules to pre-heat water just ahead of your normal usage times.
Can it be installed horizontally?
Yes - this model supports both vertical and horizontal wall mounting. When installed horizontally, the hot water outlet must be positioned at the top of the unit, essential for correct water stratification and to prevent air locks.
Is the pressure relief valve (PRV) included?
Yes - a PRV is supplied as standard and must be fitted and plumbed to a safe discharge point as part of the installation. This is a legal requirement under the Water Regulations.
Can it be hardwired rather than plug-in?
Yes. The 1.5m supply cable has a 13A plug which can be removed to allow direct hardwired connection. All electrical work must be carried out by a competent person under Building Regulations Part P.
Is it suitable for Economy 7 or off-peak tariffs?
Yes. Use the WiFi app or Smart Key scheduling to programme overnight heating during off-peak hours, taking full advantage of cheaper Economy 7 or time-of-use tariff rates.
