The Quality Heating QH Dual 120 Litre Floor-Standing Electric Water Heater is the largest freestanding cylinder in the QH range, designed for households with higher hot water demand where wall-mounting isn't an option. It combines a 2,000W copper heating element, a zirconium-enamel inner vessel, and 40mm foam insulation in a compact cylindrical package rated Energy Class B.
At 120 litres stored capacity, this floor-standing unit delivers approximately 213 litres of usable blended hot water per cycle once mixed down to a comfortable 41°C delivery temperature - a substantial reserve for 3-4 occupants, or properties with high peak demand such as holiday lets, larger bathrooms with baths, or commercial washroom facilities. Usable Water Yield is a Calculated Figure
The 213L usable water figure assumes a stored temperature of 65°C, a 10°C cold mains feed, and blending down to a 41°C delivery temperature - the standard reference point used across the QH range. Actual usable volume will vary with incoming mains temperature and the delivery temperature selected on site.

Installation & Trade Notes:
This unit is floor-standing - place it upright on a flat, level, structurally sound floor surface. No wall bracket is required. The supplied PRV must be fitted and plumbed to a safe, visible, frost-free discharge point in compliance with Water Regulations and Building Regulations Part G. Do not lay the cylinder on its side.
All electrical work must be carried out by a Part P-registered electrician. Connect via a 13A fused spur or remove the plug for hardwired connection; the circuit must be protected by an RCD. Water connections are 15mm (inlet & outlet). Flush the cylinder before commissioning and set the thermostat to a minimum of 60°C in line with HTM 04-01 Legionella guidance.
Does the 120L cylinder need wall fixings?
No - it is freestanding and stands securely on its own base on any level floor. No wall bracket is required or supplied.
How much hot water does it produce per cycle?
Using the standard reference of a 65°C store, 10°C cold main, and 41°C delivery temperature, the cylinder yields approximately 213 litres of usable blended hot water per cycle - enough for 3-4 occupants covering showers, baths, and kitchen use throughout the day.
Is the pressure relief valve included?
Yes - a PRV is supplied as standard and must be plumbed to a safe discharge point as a legal requirement under the Water Regulations.
Can it be hardwired?
Yes - remove the 13A plug and connect to a fused connection unit. All electrical work must be carried out by a competent person under Building Regulations Part P.
Is it compatible with solar PV or Economy 7?
Yes to both. A 120-litre cylinder holds significant thermal mass, ideal for overnight Economy 7 heating that keeps water warm well into the following day. Pair with a solar diverter to use surplus generation for free hot water during daylight hours.
