✂️ Can Be Trimmed to LengthIf the drain channel has been cut shorter than 600mm during tray former installation, the cover plate can be trimmed to length using a fine-tooth metal cutting blade. Deburr cut edges before fitting.

⚠️ Tile Thickness — Check Before Ordering
This metal cover plate is suitable for a combined tile and adhesive thickness of 0–14mm only. If your tiles are thicker — for example 15mm natural stone, 20mm porcelain slab, or any tile with a thicker adhesive bed that brings the total above 14mm — you will need the Taurus Linear Tileable Drain Cover 600mm (sold separately) instead. Using a metal cover plate with tiles thicker than 14mm will result in the cover plate sitting below the tile surface level, creating an uneven join and a trip hazard at the drain.

Yes. The cover plate is the same 597mm length regardless of whether the 600mm drain channel is positioned as an end drain or an offset drain in the tray former. The cover plate drops into the drain channel opening and is not fixed — it sits in position under its own weight and can be lifted for maintenance.
My tiles are 12mm thick — will this cover plate work?
Yes, provided the combined tile and adhesive bed does not exceed 14mm total. A 12mm tile with a 2mm skim of adhesive (total 14mm) is at the upper limit. A 12mm tile with a normal 4–5mm adhesive bed (total 16–17mm) would exceed the maximum and require the tileable cover plate instead. Confirm your expected tile and adhesive depth with your tiler before ordering.
What is the difference between this cover plate and the finishing trim — do I need both?
They are two separate components that work together. The cover plate is the removable metal strip that sits over and covers the drain channel opening itself — water passes through it and into the trap below. The finishing trim is a fixed border strip that frames the perimeter of the drain channel where the tiled floor meets the channel edge, covering the raw tile cut and providing a neat colour-matched surround. The cover plate alone is fully functional; the finishing trim is an optional upgrade for a more polished appearance. If you want the full coordinated drain surround, order both in the same finish.
Can I use the stainless steel cover plate with matt black shower fittings?
Technically yes — the cover plate will function perfectly regardless of finish choice. Whether the finish coordinates aesthetically is a design decision. Many designers do mix metallic tones in wet rooms, and stainless steel is a neutral finish that can work alongside darker fittings. For a fully coordinated scheme, selecting the Matt Black cover plate alongside matt black shower fittings and door hardware gives the most cohesive result.
How do I clean and maintain the cover plate and drain channel?
Lift the cover plate from the drain channel (no tools needed) and rinse under running water to remove hair and debris. The channel beneath can be wiped with a damp cloth.
