The SolaX CHINT single phase indirect meter with 200A CT is a DIN-rail energy meter that measures import and export at the point of grid connection. It uses a 200A/5A current transformer, so it can be fitted on supplies where direct-connected meters are not suitable, and it communicates with the inverter over RS485 Modbus-RTU.
Fitted with a compatible single phase SolaX inverter, the meter enables export limiting and lets you see power, energy, voltage and current without relying only on the cloud app. It provides bi-directional measurement and an LCD display for easy set-up and checking, with plug-and-play wiring.

Important Safety Information
Meter and CT installation involves the incoming supply. Work must be carried out by a competent, qualified electrician to BS 7671. Never open the CT secondary circuit while the primary carries current.
Compatibility
This is the single phase indirect (CT-connected) meter. It is intended for single phase SolaX inverters. Do not confuse it with the direct-connected 80 A meter or the three phase meter, which are different products.
What It Enables
The meter provides the grid import and export readings that a compatible SolaX inverter uses for export limiting. Set the export limit in the inverter as described in its manual.
200A CT Connection
Uses a 200A/5A current transformer with a 1 m lead, suitable for higher-current supplies and simple clamp-on fitting.
RS485 Modbus-RTU
Communicates with the inverter over RS485 Modbus-RTU at 9,600 bps, with an RS485 cable and RJ45 connector supplied.
Bi-Directional Metering
Measures energy imported from and exported to the grid, which is what export limiting relies on.
LCD Display

What does the meter do?
It measures power, energy, voltage and current at the grid connection and reports them to the inverter over RS485, enabling export limiting and local monitoring.
Which inverters is it compatible with?
It is for single phase SolaX inverters, including the X1-MINI G4. Use the three phase meter for three phase inverters.
Why does it use a CT?
The 200A/5A CT lets the meter measure current indirectly, so the main supply cable does not pass through the meter itself.
How is it connected to the inverter?
Over RS485 Modbus-RTU. A 10 m RS485 cable and RJ45 connector are supplied. Follow the inverter manual for the meter address and connection settings.
What is the difference from the direct 80 A meter?
The direct meter passes the supply current through the meter itself, while this version is CT-connected and reads current through a clamp-on transformer.
