The Salus RT310RF is a wireless digital room thermostat and receiver kit that holds your home at a constant set temperature between 5°C and 35°C. It pairs the RT310TX battery-powered thermostat with the RXRT510 mains receiver, supplied factory pre-paired so there is no pairing to carry out on a new kit.
The receiver has a 16(5) A NO/COM relay output for heating appliances with an on/off room thermostat input, and the two units talk over an 868 MHz radio link with up to 30 m range in open space, so the thermostat can sit in the living area while the receiver stays by the boiler. Choose between TPI control and Span control (±0.25°C), use frost protection and sleep mode, and check the link with the RF test function. The kit carries a 5-year manufacturer's warranty.

Installation and safety
The RXRT510 receiver is wired to 230 V AC and must be installed by a qualified person in line with national regulations and BS 7671. Isolate the supply before wiring. The kit is for indoor use only and must be kept dry. Where the receiver connects into the controls of a gas boiler, the connection should be made by a Gas Safe registered engineer.
Non-programmable: no built-in timer
The RT310RF holds a set temperature only. It has no time schedule, so use it with your boiler's timer or a separate programmer if you want set heating times. Fit 1.5 V AA alkaline batteries only in the thermostat; the manufacturer states that rechargeable batteries must not be used.
What's in the kit
RT310TX wireless thermostat, RXRT510 receiver (factory pre-paired) and a thermostat stand, so the thermostat can be placed on a desk or surface as well as wall mounted.
Key Features
Pre-Paired Wireless Link
Thermostat and receiver are factory pre-paired and communicate at 868 MHz with up to 30 m range in open space. An RF signal indicator on the display and a TEST/PAIRING button let you check the link at the planned position.
TPI or Span Control
A rear DIP switch selects TPI (choose 6 or 9 cycles per hour) or Span control at ±0.25°C, so you can match the control style to the heating system.
Frost Protection
One button turns frost protection on or off. The frost setpoint is adjustable from 5°C to 17°C (default 5°C) in installer mode.
Sleep Mode
Sleep mode pauses all thermostat functions, for example outside the heating season. Press any button to bring the thermostat back.
Clear LCD and Battery Memory
A backlit LCD shows room or set temperature, heating-on and frost icons and a low-battery warning. Settings are held in memory for 30 seconds while you change the batteries.
Receiver Manual Override
The receiver follows the thermostat in AUTO, and slide switches give a manual ON/OFF override for testing or commissioning. The 16(5) A NO/COM relay is rated for volt-free or 230 V switching.
Setting Up the Thermostat
TPI or Span: which should I choose?
TPI cycles the heating on and off in short periods to match demand and limit temperature swings; DIP switch 1 then sets 6 cycles per hour (lower comfort level) or 9 cycles per hour (higher comfort level). Span switches around the set temperature with an accuracy of ±0.25°C, and DIP switch 1 has no effect in this mode. The DIP switches are on the rear of the thermostat.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is the thermostat already paired with the receiver?
Yes. The RT310RF kit is factory pre-paired, so the units work together once powered. If you ever need to re-pair, set the receiver to AUTO and ON, power it up (the LED flashes red), then press and hold TEST/PAIRING on the thermostat for 3 seconds. Pairing can take up to 9 minutes and the receiver LED turns solid red when it succeeds.
Can I set heating times with it?
No. This is a non-programmable thermostat that controls temperature only. Use your boiler's built-in timer or a separate programmer for time control.
What is the wireless range?
Up to 30 m in open space on 868 MHz. Walls, floors and metalwork reduce the range, so press TEST/PAIRING at the planned thermostat position to check the connection before you fix it in place.
How do I wire the receiver?
Connect the L and N terminals to a 230 V AC supply and use the NO and COM terminals as the switched output to your heating appliance's room-thermostat input. Check the appliance's own wiring instructions to identify its thermostat terminals and follow the wiring diagram in the quick guide. Have the work done by a qualified person.
How do I change the batteries?
A low-battery symbol appears on the display. Fit two AA alkaline batteries, not rechargeable ones, and do it within 30 seconds to keep your settings. To reset the thermostat, remove the batteries without pressing any button, wait 2 minutes, then refit them.
How does frost protection work?
Press the frost button to switch frost protection on. The thermostat then keeps the room above the frost setpoint, which is 5°C by default and can be set between 5°C and 17°C in installer mode (press all three buttons together for 3 seconds).
