The HP250M7-F9 is the standard model with no heat exchanger coil — suitable for standalone heat pump or electric-only operation. The HP250M7C-F9 includes an internal coil for connection to a solar thermal collector, central heating system or boiler back-up (usable tank volume 240L). Both share identical external dimensions, heat pump performance and operating range.
The Haier M7 250L Heat Pump Water Heater uses air-source heat pump technology to deliver domestic hot water at a fraction of the running cost of a conventional electric immersion heater. By extracting heat from the surrounding air — operating from as low as -7°C ambient — the M7 achieves a Coefficient of Performance (COP) of 3.45 at 14°C (EN16147), meaning it produces approximately 3.45 units of heat for every 1 unit of electricity consumed.
The unit runs on R290 natural refrigerant (0.15 kg charge), with a Global Warming Potential of just 3 and zero Ozone Depletion Potential. The enamel-lined tank with 50mm polyurethane insulation and a sacrificial magnesium anode rod resists corrosion and scaling for long service life. Control is via the built-in TFT display or the hOn Wi-Fi app (iOS and Android). The unit is rated IPX4 for splash-proof installation in utility rooms, garages and similar spaces.

🔧 Installation Notes
The Haier M7 250L is a mains-pressure heat pump water heater and must be installed by a suitably qualified engineer in accordance with Water Regulations, G3 Building Regulations (or equivalent notification), and the manufacturer's installation manual. Key installation requirements are summarised below.
⚡ Electrical Supply
Dedicated 220–240V / 50Hz single-phase circuit required. Rated heat pump input 320W; maximum combined (Dual Power) 2,035W. Suitable MCB and RCD protection to IET Wiring Regulations (BS 7671).
🌡️ G3 Unvented Compliance
Installation and commissioning must comply with Building Regulations Part G3 (Unvented Hot Water). Work must be carried out by a G3-qualified installer or notified to the local building control authority.
💨 Ventilation & Ducting
Must be installed in a well-ventilated space. The unit can draw air directly from the room or via 160mm ducting to an adjacent space or outdoors. Minimum clearances per installation manual must be observed (min. 100mm rear, 700mm front access).
🚰 Safety Valve & Discharge
A TPR (Temperature & Pressure Relief) valve (Rp 3/4) is fitted as standard. A compliant discharge pipe must be routed to a safe, visible termination point in accordance with Water Regulations and the installation manual.
💧 Condensate Drain
The heat pump produces condensate during operation, particularly at lower ambient temperatures. A condensate drain pipe must be connected and routed to a suitable drain.

The unit must be installed on a flat, level surface with sufficient load-bearing capacity. Filled weight is 345 kg (HP250M7-F9) — confirm structural suitability of the floor before installation, particularly in first-floor or loft locations.
