Description

The ESBE VRG133 DN25 is a compact 3-way rotary mixing valve with 28 mm compression fittings and a Kvs of 10. It handles both mixing and diverting duty, so one valve suits radiator and underfloor heating mixing circuits, zone control and change-over applications. The compression fittings (EN 1254-2) let you fit straight onto 28 mm copper pipe with no threaded tails or extra fittings.

The body is cast in dezincification resistant (DZR) brass and rated PN10 (10 bar) for -10°C to +110°C continuous operation (+130°C temporarily). A low-leakage design (under 0.05% mixing, under 0.02% diverting), non-slip knob with end stops and a rotatable, reversible position scale make it easy to set up by hand. Add an ESBE ARA600 series actuator for automatic control through ESBE's unique valve-to-actuator interface, which gives excellent regulating accuracy.

Do not exceed 10 bar working pressure, 100 kPa pressure drop when mixing (200 kPa when diverting) or a close-off pressure of 200 kPa. Installation must be carried out by a competent installer following the ESBE installation instruction and applicable regulations. Complies with PED 2014/68/EU Article 4.3.

Check pipe size and port orientation

This version is for 28 mm pipe (DN25, Kvs 10). ESBE also makes the VRG133 for 22 mm pipe in smaller Kvs values, so confirm the pipe diameter before ordering. Fit the valve with the position scale and port symbols (■ ● ▲) oriented as shown in the installation instruction, and set the valve to the position specified before fitting an actuator.

Mixing or diverting

ESBE's VRG130 series is suitable for both mixing and diverting operation. For dedicated mid-port change-over, ESBE offers the VRG230 series.

What pipe size does it fit?

This VRG133 has 28 mm compression fittings (EN 1254-2) for 28 mm pipe. It is the DN25, Kvs 10 version.

Can it be used for diverting as well as mixing?

Yes. The VRG130 series is suitable for both mixing and diverting. Allowable pressure drop is 100 kPa when mixing and 200 kPa when diverting.

Which actuator should I use?

An ESBE ARA600 series actuator is the standard choice. The ARA645 or ARA655 give 2-point on/off control, and 3-point versions give proportional mixing control.

Is it suitable for glycol?

Yes, for water/glycol mixtures up to 50% and water/ethanol up to 28%, as well as heating water to VDI 2035.

How do I tell which port is closed?

ESBE's guidance is that the port the flat of the shaft or the knob indicator points towards is the closed port.

What is the Kvs value?

Kvs 10 means a flow of 10 m3/h at a pressure drop of 1 bar. Use ESBE's sizing chart to keep pressure drop within the recommended range.
