AF/ArmaFlex Evo tube is supplied in 2 m lengths of black, closed-cell elastomeric foam pipe insulation for refrigerant pipework on split air conditioning and refrigeration systems. It is the practical choice for short runs, connections at the indoor and outdoor units, and repairs, and it carries the same Microban® antimicrobial protection and closed-cell condensation control as the coil.
Evo is rated B(L)-s2,d0 for reaction to fire with Class 0 performance and works from −50 °C to +110 °C. Available in five sizes: 6, 10, 12 and 15 mm bore in 9 mm wall, plus 10 mm bore in 13 mm wall, for 1/4", 3/8", 1/2" and 5/8" copper.

⚠ Test before you insulate
Complete leak and pressure testing of the refrigerant pipework before insulating joints. Work on refrigerant circuits must be carried out by suitably F-Gas certified engineers.
⚠ Outdoor runs need UV protection
Armacell states that AF/ArmaFlex used outdoors or under UV radiation must be protected with ArmaFinish paint, or a covering such as ArmaClad Arma-Chek, within 3 days of installation.
ℹ Installation tip
Standard tubes are not slit, so slide them onto the copper before the joints are made. Where that is not possible, slit the tube lengthways and seal it with Armacell-approved adhesive.
Key features
💧
Condensation control
The closed-cell foam and μ ≥ 10,000 vapour resistance keep moisture out and help prevent condensation forming on cold lines.
🦠
Built-in Microban®
Antimicrobial protection is built into the foam to reduce mould and bacteria growth.

Frequently asked questions
Which tube size fits which copper pipe?
6 mm suits 1/4" copper, 10 mm suits 3/8", 12 mm suits 1/2" and 15 mm suits 5/8". Check the pipe sizes in your outdoor unit's installation manual.
Do I thread the tube on before making the joints?
Yes. Standard tubes are not slit, so slide them onto the pipe before joints are made. If the joint is already made, slit the tube lengthways and seal it with Armacell-approved adhesive.
What adhesive is certified for this product?
Armacell lists ArmaFlex 525 and ArmaFlex ECO 550 as the certified adhesives for AF/ArmaFlex Evo. Follow the adhesive manufacturer's instructions.
Can I use it on external pipework?
Only with protection. Armacell states that AF/ArmaFlex used outdoors or under UV radiation should be protected with ArmaFinish paint, or a covering such as ArmaClad Arma-Chek, within 3 days of installation.
When should I choose a tube rather than a coil?
Tubes suit short runs, covering fittings, valves and joints, and repairs. For long continuous pipe runs the 15 m coil gives fewer joints.
