The Aiko Stellar 3N+72 665W Dual-Glass Bifacial Module (SKU: AIK-A-MDE72-665W, manufacturer model: AIKO-A665-MDE72Dw) is a large-format Gen 3 solar panel built on Aiko's N-Type ABC (All Back Contact) platform. Engineered for commercial rooftops, ground mounts, carports and utility-scale projects, it delivers a market-leading 24.6% module efficiency in a 72-cell form factor and up to 700W under BNPI (Bifacial Nameplate Irradiance) when the rear-face gain is captured on trackers, flat roofs or light-coloured ground surfaces.
Construction is 2.0 + 2.0 mm coated semi-tempered dual glass with a silver anodised aluminium frame and 144 N-Type ABC cells (6 × 24). The module is Intersolar Award 2023 and Red Dot Design Award 2023 winner, BloombergNEF Tier 1 rated, and backed by a 15-year product and 30-year linear performance warranty with optional Munich Re insurance for project finance requirements.
This SKU ships with the Aiko 01C connector factory-fitted to the junction box leads — a proprietary Aiko interface that is NOT compatible with standard MC4 or Stäubli MC4-EVO2 connectors. Connector Compatibility — Important
The 01C connector on this panel is a proprietary Aiko interface and NOT MC4-compatible. To terminate a string of these panels at the inverter DC input you will need 2 × Aiko 01C connectors per string, available as a separate part (SKU: AIK-01C-CONNECTOR). Cross-mating 01C with MC4 or MC4-EVO2 is prohibited under IEC 62548 and creates fire and warranty risks. If MC4-native panels are preferred, the same Stellar 3N+72 module family is available with the Stäubli MC4-EVO2A connector variant per the manufacturer datasheet — order that variant instead.
Professional Installation Required
This is a large-format C&I / utility module (2,382 × 1,134 mm · 32.2 kg). Installation requires a qualified solar PV installer experienced in commercial systems, with mandatory MCS-accredited installer for MCS grid-connected schemes. DC arc protection and 30 A string fusing are required. Not recommended for standard residential pitched-roof installations — Aiko's Neostar residential-scale series is the appropriate choice for domestic rooftops.
Bifacial Gain — STC vs BNPI
This is a bifacial dual-glass module: the rear face captures reflected and diffuse irradiance for a real-world power gain of 5–25% over front-only generation, depending on mounting geometry, ground albedo and inter-row spacing. STC ratings (665W) describe front-face-only output; BNPI ratings (700W) describe the bifacial nameplate irradiance case with 135 W/m² rear-side contribution. Bifacial gain is maximised on trackers, flat roofs, elevated ground mounts and light-coloured surfaces (white gravel, painted concrete, snow).
Key Features & Technology
ABC All Back Contact — 24.6% Efficiency
All electrical contacts sit on the rear face of the cell, eliminating front busbar shading so the entire front surface absorbs light — delivering 24.6% module efficiency in the 665W bin, roughly 1–1.5 percentage points ahead of equivalent 72-cell TOPCon panels and a clear 2+ points ahead of PERC.
Dual-Glass Bifacial Construction
2.0 + 2.0 mm coated semi-tempered glass on both faces replaces the conventional polymer backsheet for superior moisture resistance, fire performance and long-term durability. The bifacial design harvests reflected rear irradiance — most effective on trackers, flat roofs and light-coloured ground surfaces — for up to 700 W under BNPI.
Best-in-Class Temperature Coefficient
At −0.26%/°C, the N-Type ABC platform outperforms TOPCon (−0.29%) and PERC (−0.34% to −0.40%), losing less power at the 55–70°C cell temperatures typical of commercial rooftop installations — translating into higher annual kWh and improved project IRR over 30 years.
Ultra-Low Degradation · 30-Year Linear Warranty
N-Type ABC eliminates LID and PID degradation mechanisms. Guaranteed ≤1% Year 1 then ≤0.35%/year, retaining ≥88.85% output at Year 30. The 30-year linear performance warranty is bankable, with optional Munich Re insurance available for project finance requirements.
Partial Shading Optimisation · High Temperature Restriction
Aiko's ABC anti-shading technology maintains power delivery under partial obstruction — backed by the IP68 junction box with 3 bypass diodes. Cell architecture includes high-temperature restriction for fire safety and improved micro-crack resistance versus busbar-based cell designs.
Higher Power Density · Lower BOS Costs
At 665W STC / 700W BNPI from a 2,382 × 1,134 mm footprint, the module delivers more kWp per m² than equivalent 72-cell PERC or TOPCon panels — fewer modules, structures, cables and labour days per MWp mean measurably lower Balance of System cost per megawatt installed.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is the 01C connector on this panel MC4-compatible?
No. The Aiko 01C is a proprietary connector designed by Zhejiang Aiko Solar Technology, and is not compatible with standard MC4 or Stäubli MC4-EVO2. To terminate a string of these panels at the inverter DC input, you need 2 × Aiko 01C connectors per string (sold separately as SKU AIK-01C-CONNECTOR) to mate with installer-built cable assemblies. Cross-mating 01C with MC4 is prohibited under IEC 62548 and creates fire and warranty risks.
What is BNPI and how does it differ from STC?
STC (Standard Test Conditions) — 1000 W/m² front-face irradiance, 25°C cell temperature, AM1.5 spectrum — rates the panel's front-face output only, giving 665W for this SKU. BNPI (Bifacial Nameplate Irradiance) adds an additional 135 W/m² of rear-side irradiance to represent real-world bifacial operation, giving 700W. Actual bifacial gain in the field depends on ground albedo (reflected light from the surface below), module elevation and row spacing. Expect 5–10% real-world bifacial gain on typical commercial rooftops, rising to 15–25% on trackers over highly reflective surfaces such as white gravel or snow.
Is this panel suitable for residential rooftop installations?
Not for standard residential pitched roofs. At 2,382 × 1,134 mm and 32.2 kg, this is a large-format C&I / utility panel designed for commercial rooftops, flat roofs, ground mounts, carports and utility-scale farms where large-format modules deliver meaningful BOS savings. For residential use, Aiko's Neostar residential series (~1,750–1,950 mm, 21–28 kg) is the appropriate choice. A professional structural assessment of the roof or racking system is required before specifying this module on any building — dual-glass panels are notably heavier per module than glass-backsheet equivalents.
How does dual-glass compare to glass-backsheet for long-term reliability?
Dual-glass bifacial modules replace the polymer backsheet with a second layer of tempered glass, giving several long-term advantages: zero backsheet delamination risk, far better moisture ingress resistance, higher fire rating (IEC Class A vs typically Class C for backsheet modules), lower PID risk, and eligibility for bifacial gain. The trade-offs are higher module weight (~4 kg heavier than an equivalent backsheet panel) and slightly higher unit cost. On commercial and utility projects with 25–30 year IRR horizons, dual-glass is generally the higher-value choice.
What certifications does this panel hold?
The Stellar 3N+72 platform is certified to IEC 61215 (design qualification), IEC 61730 (safety qualification), 2014/35/EU Low Voltage Directive, and carries the CE mark and TÜV Rheinland approval. Manufacturing is quality-managed to ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015 (environmental) and ISO 45001:2018 (occupational safety). Aiko holds BloombergNEF Tier 1 bankability status and this module range has won the Intersolar Award 2023 and Red Dot Design Award 2023. Optional Munich Re warranty insurance is available for lender-financed projects.
Why do the cable lengths differ between portrait and landscape orientation?
In portrait orientation, the junction box sits near the panel's top edge; the shorter asymmetric tails (+400 mm / −200 mm) allow inter-row wiring runs without excess cable slack. In landscape orientation, longer symmetrical tails (±1,400 mm) reach the next panel in the string without needing extension cables. Specify your mounting orientation and row-to-row spacing at time of order — customised cable lengths are available from the factory to suit exact system geometry.
