Where the tiled floor meets the drain channel edge, the finishing trim covers the raw cut tile edge and provides a neat, professionally finished surround — transforming the junction between floor tiles and drain cover from a raw grout line into a clean, framed detail. Designed to be used alongside the Taurus Linear Drain Cover Plate 600mm (sold separately), the trim and cover plate together create a fully integrated, colour-matched drain assembly. When a wet room tray former is installed and tiled, the floor tiles are cut to run right up to the edge of the drain channel. Even with precise tile cutting, this junction — where the tile edge meets the channel opening — can look unfinished: a visible grout line or raw tile edge alongside the drain cover plate. The finishing trim solves this by providing a low-profile metal border strip that is fixed around the perimeter of the drain channel, sitting at tile height and framing the drain cover plate with a clean, colour-matched edge.
In cross-section, the trim sits at the outer edge of the channel opening with one face resting on the tile surface and the other face dropping into the channel, covering the tile cut edge underneath. The result is a neat, defined border around the entire drain cover plate that looks factory-fitted rather than site-cut.

💡 Install Sequence — When Does the Trim Go In?
The finishing trim is fitted during the tiling phase of the wet room installation, after the tray former is bedded and waterproofed but before or as the floor tiles are set. The trim is positioned around the drain channel opening at tile height so that the floor tiles butt up to it, concealing the cut tile edges beneath the trim flange. It is then secured — typically with adhesive — and grouted in alongside the floor tiles. The removable drain cover plate is then dropped in once tiling and grouting is complete.
⚠️ Tile Thickness
The finishing trim profile is designed for a tile thickness of 10mm. Using significantly thinner tiles (e.g. 6–7mm mosaics) or thicker tiles (e.g. 15–20mm stone) may result in the trim sitting proud of or below the tile surface level, which will affect the appearance. Check your tile thickness before ordering. If your tiles are 9–11mm the trim will typically fit correctly with a standard flexible adhesive bed.

Do I need the finishing trim, or can I just use the cover plate on its own?
