600mm Linear 4 Finishes 10mm Tile Thickness Drain Channel Surround For Taurus Tray Formers
The Taurus Linear Finishing Trim 600mm is a colour-coordinated border strip that fits around the perimeter of the 600mm linear drain channel opening in a Taurus wet room tray former. Where the tiled floor meets the drain channel edge, the finishing trim covers the raw cut tile edge and provides a neat, professionally finished surround — transforming the junction between floor tiles and drain cover from a raw grout line into a clean, framed detail. Designed to be used alongside the Taurus Linear Drain Cover Plate 600mm (sold separately), the trim and cover plate together create a fully integrated, colour-matched drain assembly. Available in four finishes — Stainless Steel, Matt Black, Matt Anthracite, and Brushed Bronze — to match bathroom fittings and the drain cover plate. Suitable for a tile thickness of 10mm.
What Is a Finishing Trim and Where Does It Fit?
When a wet room tray former is installed and tiled, the floor tiles are cut to run right up to the edge of the drain channel. Even with precise tile cutting, this junction — where the tile edge meets the channel opening — can look unfinished: a visible grout line or raw tile edge alongside the drain cover plate. The finishing trim solves this by providing a low-profile metal border strip that is fixed around the perimeter of the drain channel, sitting at tile height and framing the drain cover plate with a clean, colour-matched edge.
In cross-section, the trim sits at the outer edge of the channel opening with one face resting on the tile surface and the other face dropping into the channel, covering the tile cut edge underneath. The result is a neat, defined border around the entire drain cover plate that looks factory-fitted rather than site-cut.
Available Finishes
Order the finishing trim in the same finish as your drain cover plate for a fully integrated appearance. All four finishes are available for both the cover plate and the finishing trim.

Key Features
💡 Install Sequence — When Does the Trim Go In?
The finishing trim is fitted during the tiling phase of the wet room installation, after the tray former is bedded and waterproofed but before or as the floor tiles are set. The trim is positioned around the drain channel opening at tile height so that the floor tiles butt up to it, concealing the cut tile edges beneath the trim flange. It is then secured — typically with adhesive — and grouted in alongside the floor tiles. The removable drain cover plate is then dropped in once tiling and grouting is complete.
⚠️ Tile Thickness
The finishing trim profile is designed for a tile thickness of 10mm. Using significantly thinner tiles (e.g. 6–7mm mosaics) or thicker tiles (e.g. 15–20mm stone) may result in the trim sitting proud of or below the tile surface level, which will affect the appearance. Check your tile thickness before ordering. If your tiles are 9–11mm the trim will typically fit correctly with a standard flexible adhesive bed.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is the drain cover plate included with this finishing trim?
No. The finishing trim and drain cover plate are sold separately. This listing is for the finishing trim only — the border surround that frames the drain channel. The drain cover plate (the removable metal strip over the drain opening) must be ordered separately in the same finish. Both are available in Stainless Steel, Matt Black, Matt Anthracite, and Brushed Bronze.
Do I need the finishing trim, or can I just use the cover plate on its own?
The drain cover plate is fully functional on its own — water will drain correctly and the installation will perform as expected without the finishing trim. The finishing trim is an optional finishing accessory that improves the visual appearance of the drain junction. Without the trim, the edge between the floor tiles and the drain channel will be a grouted joint. With the trim, it is a clean metal border. For a standard domestic installation the trim is a nice-to-have; for a high-specification or commercial installation it significantly improves the overall quality of finish.
Can the finishing trim be fitted after tiling is complete?
No — the finishing trim must be fitted during the tiling phase, as it is designed to sit at tile height with the floor tiles butting up to its outer edge. Fitting it after tiling would require removing the tiles adjacent to the drain channel, which is not practical. The trim should be positioned and secured before or as the adjacent floor tiles are set and grouted.
My tiles are 9mm thick — will the 10mm finishing trim still work?
Yes — a 1mm difference in tile thickness is typically within the tolerance of the trim profile and adhesive bed adjustment. With a standard flexible adhesive bed of 4–5mm, a 9mm tile on a 4mm adhesive bed gives a total height of 13mm from the tray surface to the tile face, while a 10mm tile on a 3mm adhesive bed also gives 13mm. Minor adjustments in adhesive bed thickness can compensate for tile thickness variations within a few millimetres of 10mm.
Is there a finishing trim for 300mm drain channels?
Yes — a separate Taurus Linear Finishing Trim 300mm is available for tray formers with a 300mm end drain channel. Ensure you order the correct size to match your tray former's drain channel length.
