β Ideal for rented and social housing: The Lifestyle RFPT's user-settable minimum and maximum temperature limits can be locked to prevent adjustment outside the permitted range β making it tamper-resistant and suitable for managed properties where occupant override needs to be controlled.
The Drayton Lifestyle RFPT is a simple, reliable wireless programmable room thermostat designed for straightforward replacement of an existing wired programmer or room thermostat β without the need to chase cables through walls, replaster, or redecorate. The battery-powered thermostat communicates wirelessly with the mains-powered SCR receiver, which connects in place of the existing room thermostat or in the standard room thermostat wiring position at the programmer.
With a fully flexible 7-day schedule (THD22120), you can set a different programme for every day of the week β up to 6 on/off switching periods per day β matching your heating exactly to your household's routine rather than accepting the rigid 5-2 day compromise of a basic programmer. The 5-2 day variant (THD22121) is also available for simpler weekday/weekend patterns.
The built-in min/max temperature limit function allows an installer to cap the maximum setpoint and prevent the minimum from being turned down too far β a practical feature for landlords, social housing providers, and vulnerable occupants who need protection from either excessively high bills or cold conditions. Both limits are set at the thermostat by an installer and are not visible or adjustable by the end user without knowing the access method.

Frequently Asked Questions
The SCR receiver must be wired in place of the existing room thermostat connection β this involves mains electrical wiring and must be carried out by a competent person in compliance with current IET Wiring Regulations (BS7671). In most cases a Gas Safe registered heating engineer will carry out this work as part of a boiler service or controls upgrade. The battery-powered thermostat itself requires no electrical connection and can be positioned by the homeowner once the SCR is installed.
The RFPT replaces the room thermostat function in your heating system β it does not replace the separate programmer (timeswitch). In a conventional system with a wired programmer and wired room thermostat, the SCR receiver is wired in place of the existing room thermostat. The RFPT then takes over room temperature control; the programmer continues to control on/off times independently (or you can use the RFPT's own schedule if the programmer is set to "continuous on"). Consult the installation guide for wiring diagrams covering common system configurations.
THD22120 is the 7-day model, which allows you to set a completely different heating programme for each day of the week. THD22121 is the 5-2 day model, which uses one programme for Monday to Friday and a separate programme for Saturday and Sunday. For most households, the 7-day model (THD22120) offers more flexibility, particularly if weekend routines differ significantly from weekday routines.
The RFPT includes a user-settable minimum and maximum temperature limit. By setting both the minimum and maximum to the same value, the thermostat operates as a fixed-temperature stat with no user adjustment possible. Alternatively, the min and max can be set to a narrow range (e.g. 18β22Β°C) to prevent extremes while still allowing occupant comfort adjustment within acceptable limits. Refer to the installation guide for the installer options access procedure.
The RFPT and SCR receiver communicate over a typical range of 30 metres. This is more than sufficient for the vast majority of UK domestic properties β including most detached and semi-detached houses β when thermostat and receiver are on the same floor. Range can be reduced by thick stone walls, reinforced concrete, or multiple floors between the two units. If range is a concern, position the SCR receiver as centrally as possible in the property.
π§ Installation Notes
