The Drayton Wiser Thermostat Kit 2 (WT724R9K0902) is a two-channel smart heating system designed for conventional (regular) boilers — systems with a separate hot water cylinder. With two independent relay channels, Thermostat kit provides separate smart scheduling and control for both the central heating circuit and the hot water circuit, replacing a traditional programmer and room thermostat with a single, connected system. Hot water control is achieved by wiring the HubR in series with the existing cylinder thermostat, which remains in place.
Like all Wiser kits, it is built on the same expandable platform: Wiser Smart Radiator Thermostats can be added at any time to create individual room zones, supporting up to 16 rooms and 63 devices per HubR — all controlled from the free Wiser Home app.

Key Features
Two-Channel Control – Heating & Hot Water
Kit 2 provides two independent relay channels. Channel 1 controls central heating; Channel 2 controls hot water. This gives full 7-day scheduling control over both circuits from the Wiser Home app, replicating and significantly improving on the functionality of a traditional two-channel programmer. The existing cylinder thermostat is retained and wired in series with the hot water channel for temperature safety.
Designed for Conventional (Regular) Boiler Systems
Kit 2 is the correct choice for systems where the boiler feeds a separate hot water storage cylinder. This includes the majority of older UK properties and many newer systems with system boilers. It is not needed for combination boilers, which have no separate cylinder — Kit 1 covers those.
Industry-Standard Wallplate for Easy Installation
The HeatHubR fits directly to the standard UK wallplate used in most conventional heating installations, making it a like-for-like replacement for most existing programmers without additional surface work. The room thermostat is wireless and battery-operated with no wiring required.
OpenTherm Compatible
The included OpenTherm module allows digital communication with compatible boilers, enabling modulating control for greater efficiency. Rather than simply switching the boiler on and off, OpenTherm allows the system to vary boiler output to match demand, reducing short-cycling and improving fuel efficiency.
Wireless Room Thermostat with 2.4-inch Colour LCD
The included Wiser Room Thermostat is battery-powered and can be wall-mounted or placed on its table stand anywhere in the principal heating zone. The 2.4-inch full-colour TFT screen displays temperature and set-point at a glance, and touch buttons allow local adjustments and boost activation.
Wiser Home App – Remote Control & Scheduling
The Wiser Home app for iOS and Android provides full remote control and 7-day per-room scheduling. Separate schedules can be set for heating and hot water, and both can be monitored and adjusted from anywhere. The app provides access to the Heat Report and Insights features for energy monitoring.
Smart Modes
Eco Mode learns the thermal behaviour of the home and uses weather compensation with optimum-stop logic to improve boiler efficiency and reduce energy use.
Comfort Mode ensures rooms reach the target temperature at the scheduled time by starting the boiler earlier based on learned heat-up times.
Away Mode overrides all schedules with reduced set-points when the household is away, with optional geofencing activation via IFTTT.
Open Window Detection switches off heating in a zone if a sudden temperature drop consistent with an open window is detected.
Voice Control & Smart Home Integration
Works with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant for voice-activated control of any zone. IFTTT integration supports geofencing, automation triggers and connections with other smart home services.
Expandable to Multi-Zone Heating
Add Wiser Smart Radiator Thermostats to radiators at any time to create independent zones. The system supports up to 16 rooms and 63 devices per HubR, with additional Wiser Room Thermostats, Underfloor Heating Controllers and Electrical Heat Switches also supported.

How do I know if I need Kit 2 rather than Kit 1?
If your heating system has a separate hot water storage cylinder — typically the case with conventional (regular) boilers and older system boilers — you need Kit 2. If you have a combination boiler that heats water on demand, Kit 1 is sufficient as there is no separate hot water circuit to control.
Does the existing cylinder thermostat need to be replaced?
No. The existing cylinder thermostat is retained and wired in series with the HubR's hot water channel. It continues to provide temperature protection for the cylinder, while Wiser handles the time scheduling for the hot water circuit.
Can I set different schedules for heating and hot water?
Yes. Because Kit 2 has two independent channels, separate 7-day schedules can be configured for heating and hot water in the Wiser Home app, giving full control over when each circuit operates.
What is the difference between Kit 2 and Kit 3?
Kit 3 includes a three-channel HubR and two room thermostats, making it suitable for properties with two separate heating zones (such as upstairs/downstairs) plus hot water — a total of three independently controlled circuits. Kit 2 covers one heating zone plus hot water.
Does this work with gravity-fed heating systems?
No. The Wiser HubR is not compatible with gravity-fed (non-pumped) heating or hot water systems, or with boilers that require manufacturer-specific proprietary controls to operate. Check system compatibility before installation.
