The Drayton Wiser Thermostat Kit 1 (WT714R9K0902) is a single-channel smart heating system designed for combination boilers, heat-only boilers and heat pumps. It is the complete entry point to the Wiser multi-zone ecosystem, providing smart scheduling, app control and voice assistant integration straight out of the box. The kit pairs a Wiser HeatHubR (single channel) with a wireless Wiser Room Thermostat, and the whole system can be installed in around 20 minutes using the included industry-standard wallplate — no new wiring required in most cases.
Once installed, Wiser Smart Radiator Thermostats can be added to any radiator at any time to build room-by-room temperature control, supporting up to 16 independent zones and up to 63 devices per HubR — all managed through the free Wiser Home app.

Kit 1 is a single-channel system, meaning it controls one heating circuit — central heating only, with no separate hot water control. This makes it the right choice for combination boilers (which heat hot water on demand) and for heat-only boiler or heat pump installations where hot water scheduling is handled separately.
Simple, Professional Installation
The HeatHubR is designed to fit the standard UK wallplate used in the vast majority of existing heating system installations, meaning it typically replaces an existing programmer or thermostat without any rewiring. Installation takes around 20 minutes. The room thermostat requires no wiring at all.
OpenTherm Compatible
The included OpenTherm module allows the HubR to communicate digitally with compatible boilers, enabling modulating control rather than simple on/off switching. This allows the boiler to run at lower temperatures for longer, improving efficiency and reducing energy consumption.
Wireless Room Thermostat with 2.4-inch Colour LCD
The room thermostat is battery-operated and requires no wiring. It can be wall-mounted or used freestanding on the included table stand. The 2.4-inch full-colour TFT screen displays current temperature, set-point and system status, and capacitive touch buttons allow local adjustments including a boost function.
Wiser Home App – Full Scheduling & Remote Control
All scheduling, zone management and smart mode configuration is handled via the free Wiser Home app for iOS and Android. Per-room 7-day schedules can be set independently, and the system can be controlled remotely from anywhere with internet access. Local app control also works over Wi-Fi without internet.
Smart Modes for Energy Saving
Eco Mode combines weather compensation with optimum-stop logic, learning the thermal properties of the home and adjusting boiler start and stop times to maximise efficiency.
Comfort Mode pre-heats rooms so they reach the target temperature at the scheduled time rather than beginning to heat at it.
Away Mode reduces set-points system-wide when the household is away, with optional geofencing via IFTTT to trigger this automatically.
Open Window Detection shuts off heating in a room when a sudden temperature drop consistent with an open window is detected.
Voice Control & Smart Home Integration
Compatible with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant for voice-activated temperature control. IFTTT integration enables geofencing, automation triggers and connections with other smart home devices and services.
Expandable Multi-Zone System
Add Wiser Smart Radiator Thermostats to individual radiators at any time to create independent heating zones. The system supports up to 16 rooms with up to 5 devices per zone, and up to 63 Wiser devices total per HubR. Additional Wiser Room Thermostats, Electrical Heat Switches and Underfloor Heating Controllers can also be added.
No Monthly Subscription
All features, including app control, smart modes, remote access and voice integration, are included with no ongoing subscription charges.

Is Kit 1 right for my combi boiler?
Yes. Kit 1 is specifically designed for combination boilers, which supply hot water on demand without a separate cylinder. Because there is no separate hot water circuit to control, a single-channel system is all that is required. For systems with a separate hot water cylinder, Kit 2 (two-channel) or Kit 3 (three-channel) would be needed.
Can I add room-by-room control later?
Yes. Wiser Smart Radiator Thermostats can be added to individual radiators at any point to create independent heating zones. The system supports up to 16 rooms and is fully expandable without replacing the hub.
Does Kit 1 work with heat pumps?
Yes. Kit 1 is compatible with air source heat pumps and heat-only boilers as well as combination boilers. For heat pump installations, consult the manufacturer's specifications to confirm wiring compatibility with the HubR relay output.
Do I need a professional to install this?
The HubR requires fixed mains wiring in compliance with BS7671 (IET wiring regulations), so it must be connected by a qualified electrician or heating engineer. The room thermostat requires no wiring and is set up by the homeowner via the Wiser Home app.
